Now... a question! Does anyone know why turmeric is supposedly so good for you? I've been reading up on drinking it in milk but I can't figure out why on earth it would be such a potent health benefit supposedly yet have so little written about it.
Turmeric has been used in Ayurvedic medicine for millennia. g00gle the terms together and see what comes up - you'll have to sort the wheat from the chaff, but certainly you'll see what potential claims abound for it...........................

Basically, wot Greying said re: turmeric. Mixed with evo or coconut oil and black pepper and water and made into a paste it is often known as Golden Paste, Robin from DF diaries is a strong advocate of it.
Known for being strongly anti-inflammatory (it's the curcumin in it which is the magic stuff) there is a very active book of faces group where peeps are treating their animals and themselves, apparently with good results. It is on my list to try on me soon, to see if it has any effect on my painful inflamed joints, which the medics have yet to offer a diagnosis on:(
Thank you for the link to ruled.me:)
Enjoy your new phone when it arrives, sounds like a good idea for your darling Jelly to have one all of her own tho':DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
maddiemay I wish I had never ever allowed her onto it! It is 2 and a half years old. I had hoped for another 2 and a half out of it. However, it was a bonus from my workplace and thus cost me nothing, plus allowed me to reduce my contract cost by half at the time and so have been paying £12 for years now for 800 minutes I make good use of each month, unlimited data which again gets used to death, and texts which I send less of than iMessages. So I shall sniff, add my fingerprint to the new one, and get a very nice case that is Liltyproof
Greying & maddiemay - thanks everso for the thoughts. I had read about it, it was an aside on a website I was reading regarding supplements etc. And I couldn't find specific information other than that it was anti-inflammatory. I can't drink it in milk so wondered at other ways, so thanks for the ideas!! I need anti-inflammatories that are natural.
Enjoy the ruled.me link. Have to say most of my meals come from there these days. I haven't ventured into the dessert section being far too worried that it would be a slippery slope making me crave sugar. But the stuff I have tried has all been fab. Even things I have initially been concerned about... Orange and cinnamon beef stew for example...
Apple I hold you firmly in my head as a MMM expertalong with fmess!!! I have decided that every bit of cashback I can get, and any *extra* money I can make will plod into this fund. Making £40 a month in this manner seems very easy in reality. I shall be tracking it from today even though the card is not even on its way yet and thus I won't be ordering until next week.
I am very tempted by the switch to the Chicken coop offered on TCB at the moment. £100 to me, £25 to charity, and £52.50 in cashback. But switching one of my current banks is moot as the money in them will be worked harder where it is. Tempting to set 2 DD's up on my Natwide shopping account but it would take too long. :rotfl:

It looks as if the making of the Golden Paste (GP) can be a messy business:eek: I think that disposable gloves and a goodly supply of hob cleaner will be necessary. (Recipe on the FB group).
Some people take it in milks other than dairy, or push blobs of it into empty pop out pill thingies and then freeze, as needed pop out the "pills" and swallow down with a drink. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
