Such a shame the doctor's kept telling me I was imagining it when my baby was on it Westie, I knew it was that, but not one would agree with me! Still, it helped with the silent reflux and that was a big pro vs con.

Funnily enough, Os reflux is flaring up again a bit this past week Lilty, (the reflus he doesn't have, according to the doctor's...)
I can 'hear' it and he keeps getting hiccups/food repeating on him, poor mite. He was also shouting in his sleep last night too which is usually a sign...
It seem to come and go with him though, and nothing like it used to be, thank heavens.

I always come on your thread with the intention of writing a nice, meaningful post but then become this brain-dead mess as soon as I start to try and write. I have nothing wise or interesting to impart here because you're always waaaay ahead of the game my little warrior Lilt. And thankfully I have no imput on child stomach issues as mine has never had that, praise be! Poor JelTot and you, what a nightmare to constantly deal with. Sleep well........... loooove ya x

Sorry, crossed posts last night Lilty :)

Reflux goes hand in hand with food intolerances and allergies Lilty - especially lactose intolerance, as I'm sure you know already.
So glad the Ranitidine is helping :D

Your steps are so impressive. I'm still waiting for my charger to turn up and then I'll join you, although don't expect big things!

    Happy hump day

I'm on omeprazole too! It combats what naproxen does to me, great stuff.

Ick sit ups! I can do some squats and like 10 seconds of plank lol.

I was on Naproxen Peaty and I rather liked it (mix of that, valium and codeine/morphine was epic.. so high at work accidentally!)

Planking. Today I did not plank. I walked to work tensing my tummy (sucking it back and holding it tense for 15 seconds) then relaxing for a bit then tensing again! It aches tonight. But after my fuh-reaking awesome day of news I am happy to be doing whatever!

Firstly before I dive in, thanks to everyone for the comments/help on the ranitidine/omeprazole front. I am hoping omeprazole is not necessary as a friends daughter has been having it forever and she gets serious constipation and issues. Jellytot has a dairy protein allergy, so rather than the lactose/sugars she just is allergic to the main body of the stuff. You can remove the lactose and she still projectiles it sadly. She had a specialist formula until she was 2 which was hydrolysed (broken down) dairy proteins and she tolerated it much better. I wish we could still give her that. At the moment its either soya or coconut milk and neither is particularly calorific. I've taken to adding in gingerbread syrup as even the vegan hot chocolate sauce makes her sick and I need to boost calories in any way I can, even if that way is pure sugar

Me&O the hiccups and things describe her so well. I can't wait for the appointment to be honest. There are so many other issues not just this that I really need to see someone properly about her. :)

She hasn't been sick in 3 nights now. Soon to be 4!!! :j:j:j:j

Right on to my day/news. Last night I phoned the waiting list number for the hospital chronic pain department. The reason I did so was because the night before I had a DREAM I missed the appointment & it was the only number I had. I am aware it wasn't the right one, but I felt stressed as I knew I had an appointment coming up at some point soon and hadn't got a letter about it anywhere in the house & then the dream... I left a voicemail with my details and thought nothing more of it. At work this morning at half 10 I got a phone call from the very lovely waiting list lady. She said I did have an appointment. TODAY. At 11am. Cue much mad panic from me because the hospital is a train and a very long bus journey from me not to mention a lot of walking! And I hadn't got my purse for the fees this would incur!! I charged into my bosses office, as she was only working for a couple of hours then home to see a chiropractor and popping to a couple of offices near the hospital and basically asked if she was leaving soon and if she would mind taking me with her  - bless her heart she didn't mind at all, took me, dropped me off. I texted her when I went in and she came back and collected me after she had done her 2 paperwork drop-offs and took me back to the office with her while she did a couple more hours work. INSANELY grateful to her. You see Levi where my efforts to work my bum off are repaid so kindly. This is why I don't mind working late/extra.

So... the appointment. Was great news. I was complimented on my 'excellent and near perfect posture' because of the way I was sitting in my chair. She was very impressed with the physio work provided a desk assessment from and the resulting changes they made to accommodate me including a £260 chair, new wireless mouse/keyboard and a footstool and paperwork holder. She was even more impressed with my new diet/weight loss and the amount of walking I am doing as well as trying to improve my core muscles with the various weights/strength training exercises. She doesn't think I need any more surgery for the time being :T which is fab news as I was gearing myself and work up to further surgery due to pains I have been having on the opposite side of my back/hip. Turns out, these pains are resulting from the work I am putting in to improve my core and posture!! The pressure has been taken off the left hand side which is allowing me to balance myself and move/twist/bend more efficiently, and this is putting the muscles (and the nerves that pass through them) on the right hand side of my lower spine to such good use after a prolonged period of minimum use that they are protesting, just as any muscle will at working much harder than it is used to! The good news is, the more I do, the more stable I will become and the less pain I should get!! :j

Better yet, she has recommended me to a local sports physio, who like me is hypermobile and lives with chronic pain herself. She is a life coach and a sports therapist/masseuse. She helps you to adopt techniques to improve your core and posture, whilst massaging out the aches and stress. She also does acupuncture and various other alternate therapies in conjunction with it all! :D and I have also been put forward to a local group who provide help and support for people like me who deal with chronic pain, where they will provide me with free classes designed to help me to strengthen myself :D stuff like Pilates etc!

All in all, everything I am doing, be it for migraines or pain management, is all working in sync to make my body and mind so much better. I've cut down on painkillers dramatically and get through most days with only 2 co-codamols if required. Mostly I grin and bear the pain and actually use it to gauge what I can do physically. My psoriasis has all but disappeared with the removal of sugar from my diet. No migraines in a few weeks. Great weight loss that my completely tactless colleague who has been away for 2 weeks in China commented on the moment she saw me... I am chuffed.

Add to that the fact that thanks to not knowing in advance about the appointment, I saved myself a holiday day taken up with travel, and £20 in fares! I owe my boss a bottle of wine.

I've hurt my knee and am regularly icing it - pulled a muscle at the back of it hiking up some serious steps the other day. And I still feel FAB :D I just need to contain this burst of excited energy because I did weights like bicep curls and tricep something or others with 5kg weights yesterday and also the walking crunches on the way to work, not to mention over 11k steps again as always on a work day :D I shouldn't be doing any more! Rome was not built in a day!!!

I am not around as much in the evenings which is hampering my efforts to catch up on diaries/post and offer support where I can. I am keeping my curtains open and going to sleep/waking by the sun clock rather than my own artificial light induced late bedtimes and alarmed mornings. I feel better for this too, odd as it may sound especially considering the times I am going to sleep/waking. I promise to try and catch up around park trips and play dough jewellery making. I also bought some more stuff for baking this weekend - serious test of my willpower but I can rest assured Jellytot will eat my dairy free choc chip cookies until she pops :) Around this, I promise to catch up, honestly!

Please don't feel ignored. I think I have about 1200 posts to catch up between diaries, and I tend to go with whichever one on the top of my subscription list holds the most unread posts :rotfl:

    Big hugs xxxx

  • Lilt, glad to hear you're mending yourself. Well done. As for the catch ups, this site isn't an obligation, it's here to help. Just do what you can when you can and don't feel pressure to do otherwise.

No INOD you are right; it isn't an obligation and it doesn't feel that way. I miss my friends on here. I miss knowing what is going on, and after the fantastic support I receive on a daily basis, here or AWOL I feel a bit sad that I am not up to date with all goings on everywhere. I am getting there though... and disobeying the Sun God :rotfl: to do so :D xx

I've got an excellent recipe for savoury flapjack, makes a great offering for "bring and share" do's for all veggies, and in my case wheat intolerant veggies, although I did once have to rescue it from the cake section. Best eaten the day it's made.

    6oz oats
    2oz sunflower and pumpkin seeds
    4oz grated cheese
    1 small onion
    1 small carrot, grated
    3 oz melted marg/butter
    1 beaten egg
    2tbsp milk
    1 tbsp tomato pur!e
Good pinch cayenne pepper and mustRd powder

Mix together, put in lined tin (mine is c9" square) gas 4 or 180C for 20 mins

Must store this little beauty. Love it!

And now it really is DARk because I have had tot urn the bedside light on and that is cheating and ruining my melatonin production. I need dark in my EYES!

Night peepities!! I am far too full of good cheer to go to sleep but I've a long day ahead tomorrow. xx
