Lilt and Jellytots most excellent adventure...

NOA (I just automatically typed NOM instead of NOA... food on the brain
) it is as addictive as pottering around the garden. Smoothing down jeans and folding them just so then stacking them up like sardines to be glanced at and chosen between in a second without fuss, mess, or rummaging
Jelly is hilarious...
Cu Umber not cucumber
Haircups - not hiccups
'Your' instead of my... - Your ear is sore mummy. Look at your hair, isn't it beautiful mummy... etc.
Baa Baa Pig instead of Peppa which she is perfectly happy to say as well
Horter Bottle instead of hot water bottle
Don't (insert random phrase here) like you always do mummy :rotfl: cheeky little monster
Muddy cuddles instead of muddy puddles
:heart2:

My elder niece (now in her 40s!) said "Boodilump" instead of "Elephant" when she was just a few months older than Jelly. My sister couldn't understand why as her speech was very advanced except for this.
All was explained when I babysat her one night. She pointed to a picture of an elephant in one of her books & told me, very solemnly:
"Mummy & Daddy call it an elephant, but it's a boodilump really"
Priceless!!0 -
greyfox you just reminded me of a little girl I knew when I was growing up. She was insistent that rhinoceros was called an iftikhiwat. Right up till I last remember her when I was about 9-10 and she was 6 she still called it that. And when asked, she used to just say it had always been called that. Her parents genuinely thought she had been reincarnated from some kind of ancient tribe! They even researched tribal names for animals
Bless your niece!! That is pricelessand I like boodilump. I've got a friend whose daughter calls fishfingers sh!tm!ngers... and flapjack is !!!!jack :rotfl:

My sister used to call Smarties - Farties, which was comical when out and about lol, and daffodils were called jackadils.....
speaking about names for animals my aunt told me once about my cousin at nursery when she was about Jellys age reading dear Zoo and telling the circle that its not a camel but a dromedary as it only had one hump.... now not sure how she knew this but she is a smartie pants now at 10, we all knew that when she used to put the pencils into colour groups rather then scribble with them.... I can imagine their faces now at nursery, I quite like the new name for Rhino although I can't pronounce it....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Banking & Borrowing, and Reduce Debt & Boost Income boards. Well I am back from holiday and have spent the last 12 hours catching up on : Jelly being sick and self harming (has the latter stopped?); promotion for Him, well done; Jelly tantrums and a sad mummy and daddy, but now we have had a third birthday that faze is fading fast and on that note a very belated birthday - Peppa and all pigs are my fav so very jel of that cake!!; the unexpected passing of client and husband, very tragic for all concerned and of course the peaceful passing of your Pop - my sympathies and love and hugs; Osteo - hmmm..... you have said yourself you are feeling better, not taken some painkillers, feeling taller - so must being doing something right. Maybe just talk with him about some of the procedures!; funeral attendance or not - I have read between the lines and think you have made the right decision - when I lost my dad I agonised over whether my boys should attend and my then 11 year old told me firmly on the day 'Mum, Grandpa would not want me to miss my last day of Junior School would he? So, shall we go and get our uniform on?' - decision made and of course he was right; Dignitas well I have my ticket too; kondo'ing - which still has me confused.
So it's great to have caught up, throughout which I have laughed and cried.
Had an amazing holiday, managed to get all washing dried and ironed last weekend in the beautiful weather on Sunday/Monday. Then was really poorly for 2/3 days as we appear to have caught a gastric bug on plane coming home. Am now nearly back to normal, but lost 3lbs - hoorah, but hubby gone down with it today!
Being back at work was not much fun and having been in temperatures of 37 degrees plus, felt rather cold!!
So Lilty as always a great diary to subscribe too.
Missed you xxx:j I belong to Mike's Mob :j0 -
