Buying Concert Tickets from Someone Who Doesn't Have Paypal
Why don't you email him from a different email address and see if he tells this 'new' potential buyer he doesn't have PayPal?
You could even engineer the situation where both your personas are offering to buy, if he's legit he'll be honest, if he's scamming he'll be after the money from both emails!
I did this earlier today. No reply, as yet. And no reply from him to the email I sent last night suggesting that he transfers ownership to me, and I pay afterwards. I even pointed him in the direction of my 200 strong positive feedback on ebay. I didn't think for one minute he'd go for this (even if he's legit) but what is the difference between HIM taking the risk before I do?!
UPDATE: I received an email this morning from Gumtree to say that they have reason to believe that the advert I responded to may have been posted by someone involved in suspicious activity. Phewwww! I'm so thankful to all thoe of you that just made me stop and think twice.
