  • Love - the feeling of excited anticipation waiting for WEM's when you know that you've entered hundreds of comps the day before.

Hate - wasting valuable seconds trying to find the right number on the calendar!!

I hate the Advents that don't open their doors until mid afternoon!

    THIS!

I like to do the Advents in the morning when my hubby is feeding our little one his milk and I need to come back to the ones that don't open until late and usually I forget!

I hate Advents where you need to like and share or comment. Also the Rafflecopters where you need to leave a blog comment. Before the Advents started I decided to give them a go but they use too much energy for me and the Advents were taking ages because of them so I decided to just do the instant wins and the FB apps and web form ones.

  • Just hate December - too many smallprize advents which just fill up the board (40 pages full for last 24 hours) meaning that big chance of missing some decent comps that I might want to win. Afraid I dont have time for that many.

  • stubrown if you click on the arrow next to 'newest thread' the arrow will turn blue and point upwards, that way you'll only see the new threads. You're probably seeing loads of advents at the moment because they're bumped each day with new questions etc, via the 'newest post' option.

Advents that have a good prize to start with but then either just turn into x% off (Evans I'm looking at you) and those that offer a nice prize but only if you spend x amount (Neom Organics).

I am peed off with Advents in general cos they all seem to run at different times!! Some open at midnight, others 9am, 10am, 3pm... it would help immensely if I could know that starting at 6am, I could work through them all in a couple of hours, instead of having to check back several times a day to see if they've opened yet GRRRRRR!

This is my first year for advents but my thoughts so far -

    Love -

that its every day and some are multiple winners so bigger chance to win

that some are instant wins, I like the instant wins even if I don't win much!

    hate -

timings! I do my advents first thing around 7am and half the doors aren't open so I have to remember to go back

ones which start off good then go to xx% off grrrrr

I tend to be really selective about advents, so I'm sure I'm missing out on some great prizes, but there's a limit to how much time I can spend comping, so I have to draw the line somewhere!

    I love:

    - comps which have quite specific prizes, like sports equipment, because I think the odds are slightly better than for really general prizes like gadgets or hampers which everyone enters.
    - simple forms rather than Flash animation which crashes my computer (looking at you, Dorset Cereals!)
    - the really random Bergans and Visit Bavaria ones. I long to win something from them!
    - comps where they list the prizes in advance so you can decide which days you'll enter

    Hate

    - multiple entry methods (form/Twitter/FB)
    - like/share/comment - just pick at random, it's fairer!
    - 'surprise' prizes - I prefer to only enter for prizes I want to win, and I wouldn't want to deprive someone who'd genuinely appreciate the prize!

Recent wins: gym class, baby stuff
Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j

    Hate:
The door number doesn't correspond to the actual date because you didn't start your Advent on the 1st. If it's Dec 5, I expect to be able to open door 5!
