Nexus 5 who's got the best deal?
I really want a Nexus 5.
Hubby and I usually upgrade together as our monthly charges go down when we do 2 phones packaged together.
So who would have the best monthly deal for 2 phones packaged together one of them being a Nexus 5?
I use very little texts and phone it's mostly data like you tube, internet and email. Hubby uses a lot on the phone.
Thank-you

The Nexus 5 isn't really about contracts - the reason Google sell them SIM free at such low cost is to get people away from interminable, restrictive contract tie ins. Far better to buy the phone outright and pair it with one of the huge number of 30 day SIM deals (which start at nowt per month btw). That's kind of the whole thinking behind how Google sell them.0

yes, but they are still available on contracts, so a valid post?0

Of course my post is valid. This is a money saving site after all.
For instance, by making a 'thinking out of the box' suggestion the other day I helped save a poster well over a hundred pounds. There are always options and people should be armed with as many options as possible before buying anything, especially if it involves a 24 month commitment in these uncertain economic times. 0 -
I didn't mean your post was / wasn't valid....... I mean the OP.0

The cheapest on CPW is £26 p/m but it goes up to £33 p/m if you also want unlimited data.
I would agree with the above. These are planned to be sim free. £300 for a top end phone is peanuts really and couple that with a decent SIM only plan and the fact that this phone is likely to get at least 3-4 years of Google support at least, and you have a bargain on your hands.
A recent article suggested that these phones are sold SIM free by retailers at a loss (and break even by Google Play) as Google is interested in strategically using its Nexus phones for Android as opposed to making a profit. So a contract is always going to be more expensive because the phone cost element of the contract is likely to be profitable to the retailer. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Are those CPW deals on 24 month contracts?
if so then...
£33x24= £792
sim only ( one plan from three unlimited data) £15x24 month ( same time span) £360 +phone cost £309.99 ( inc P+P) Phone @ £309.99+air time @ £360 = £669.99
Two years ownership on Carphone wherehouse = £792
sim only+buy handset = £669.99
£122 cheaper over 24 months if purchased outright.0 -
If yoo bought the phone direct from Google and bought a monthly sim deal from Giffgaff at £12 per month, with unlimited data, the savings would be greater0

And if the OP only wanted a 30 day commitment add another £3 x 24 = 72 so still £50 cheaper AND no horrible TWO YEAR tie in. This is for the One Plan 30 day SIM at £18/mth. Gives loads more flexibility should circs change etc.0
