Tesco credit problem

Can anybody please help? I bought my wife a Nokia phone with a PAYG Sim card at Tesco the deal looked good,top up £10.00 and they give you £20.00 extra credit!
Well she is now down to 5p credit on the £10.00 she added and cannot access the extra credit she was told would be included.
I called at Tesco and asked the phone tech guy what was wrong and he said make sure she is on the the right tarrif ie - triple your credit,so i switched the phone to this tarrif and still no extra credt!
Tried calling the Tesco helpline,what a waste of time,passed from option to option without being able to speak to a human being
Can anyone tell me how to overcome this problem before the phone is thrown out of the window!:rotfl:

How long ago did you/she top the phone up. The bonus credit is only valid a month but does get used first, so if you topped up £10 in October it would have used the free credit till that ran out then started to use the "paid" credit which is not almost gone.


If you were on another tariff then switched to this one, you'll need to top up another tenner to activate this bonus credit and I think you can only get one bonus a month, but not sure if that's calendar month or 30 days from the last credit you made..

gjchester is right. Before you can get triple credit you need to make sure you are on the triple credit tariff first and only then do you get the extra £20s worth but it does work ok once you have done that.

It wont work on credit that you added before joining the triple credit tariff of course.

My wife is on this tariff - she puts £10 on and then the extra £20 is added to it and that gets used first over a one month period or until it runs out (whichever comes first).

Then she uses the £10 she put on in the first place and this does not expire until its all used up. Then the process is repeated and so on.

If you create an account on the website you can keep in control of your phone PAYG account and make any changes that you want.

We're both on Tesco Mobile and are very satisfied with them although I chose the Tesco Lite tariff rather than the triple credit tariff.

Thanks very much warhead and gjchester for the replies,as we did not switch to the " top up tarrif " till all the paid credit was nearly gone we have lost out this time,a lesson learnt,i wish that someone at Tesco had told us this when we purchased the phone and sim card but heyho life is never that easy!
