I can't get to Citizens advice until tomorrow morning and in the mean time its worrying me sick...........
I have been working for my employer since April this year, i have a confirmation of employment letter stating my hours as 40 hours per week.
2 weeks ago my employer interviewed someone to work alongside me in the same job role as I am in.
A week later my employer told me than this new person would be starting 1st Jan 2014.
Anyway this morning I arrived at work to quite a threatening email from my employer claiming i left work early the day before, words like "heads will roll" were used.
However I never left early, he claims he tried to phone the office at 4:57pm and the office was closed, yet I sent him an email from the office at 4:57pm!!! I also had another employee with me when i left the office at 5:01pm to be exact.
I was then called into the office at 12:30pm by another manager and given a Verbal Warning, which i told them i did not agree with, i was never given the opportunity to take anyone in with me.
I was then told my hours were being reduced from 43 hours to 20 hours per week with immediate effect as financial cuts needed to be made! I was told that one of the managers was having hers reduced from 43 to 35hrs per week, but this manager also rents a property from the main boss so i reckon he'll just reduce her rent for her.
This is a huge cut, which I don't agree to and i cannot survive financially, where do i stand???

Hi hope you are ok.
I do not have any massive words of wisdom sorry but big deep breath and although I know it is easy for me to say please do not panic.
There are lots of people on here who will be able to help and I am sure that they will be here very soon.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
P.s the company you work for sound like a nightmare!Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0

I'm really trying not to panic, but so close to christmas, MOT due, bills to pay, ill be in the red, my wage has quite literally been cut in half0

I am no expert and although I employ people I would never and have never treated staff like that.
I think although I am no expert that they do have the right to change the number of hours that you are contracted to work but Surely there must be a notice period, also the disciplinary procedure????
Promise just wait, there are some amazing experts on here who will be able to come and give you chapter and verse.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
Oh and i should also add that hes forking out £40k at the moment having some refurbishments done to some properties (he's a millionaire) yet he claims he needs to make financial cuts (just me it seems!)0

You haven't had 2 years service so you have no protection against unfair dismissal so unfortunately unless what they do is for discriminatory reasons such as gender or sex etc there is little you can do.
Start looking for another job I'm afraid.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

It's pretty irrelevant whether he has money, its the company that pays you.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

I agree with takeaway addict that this is irrelevant. Business people go into business to make money, not to provide jobs!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100
