unwanted road traffic accident calls

i keep getting calls from "ambulance chasers" law firms asking me about a road trafic accident they say i've had and wanting me to claim.
i've had no RTA's when they say and keep asking them to remove me from their database, however i still keep getting the calls from various different firms and its been going on for about 6 months now.
is there anyway to get myself removed so they dont call me?

Yes, buy another SIM card or change your home phone number."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0

I get them too every now and then - when I point out I haven't had a car accident, they tell me to check with anyone in my household (erm let me go and ask the cats) or ask whether I'm sure I didn't trip on a pavement or something. I'm always polite and just ask them to take my number off their dialer (which shouldn't be on there in the first place - TPS and all - but hey-ho) but other than that not much you can do unfortunately. One actually told me that they just dial random ranges of numbers. Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0

just waste their time, they'll need to write an excuse for hanging up on you on their computers. So they'll probably update it with something like "timewaster - do not call".
I used to get PPI calls. I just waste their time and act stupid like 3 minutes into the call "sorry what's PPI again"... "oh I thought it was Pakistani Passport Inquiry"0 -
I get these every now and then, I just put the phone on speaker and leave it by the radio at work after I say can you hold for a minute as just finishing something important.
Last one held on for 45 minutes as I said I had being in a non fault accident and fractured my pelvis......and when I actually spoke to them I said I had already claimed for my broken pelvis and got paid out!!! The TPS can't cover randomly and automatically dialled calls. You can report them to the ICO, though. (For the record, silent unsolicited calls are Ofcom's pigeon.)
I now answer calls from unrecognised or withheld numbers in Russian. OK, one day, I'll get a call from Russia, but it's worked so far. It politely gets rid of the call and also ensures that they have a reason not to ring back.
I rather miss the PPI calls though. They were fun. "Why are you ringing me? I'm a man. Why would I have needed a dodgy French breast implant?"If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

I also get these calls every 2 months or so. I ask them where they got their information from, and then when they say, I just say they've been misinformed, say goodbye and hang up.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I usually tell them that yes, I've been in an accident and that I was fatally injured and would be delighted for their help in suing the person who caused it to pay for my funeral.
Seemingly fatal means something different in India.Getting forgetful, if you think I've asked this before I probably have. :rotfl:0 -
yeh I just play along for the fun of it aswell
"hello mr atrix our record show you've been involved in a RTA"
"does it,im not mr atrix by the way but I have been in an accident"?
"ohh your not mr atrix, that's no problem tell us about your accident"
"well it was saturday, I was driving through town when a car hit me from the rear"
(heres the excitement in their voice)
"we'll take a few details from you like the date of accident third party details etc and address"
"OK, well my name is youven benn dunn, the date of the accident 1/4/2012, (gives them local police stations address and telephone number as a contact for myself) then I give them houses of parliament address as thirdparty contact details and the number for the treasury as telephone details"
"thank you mr dunn a rep will call shortly to tell you if you have a claim"
also I got so fed up of someone calling asking for emergency attention to a debt that wasn't even mine a mr clayton (I have a recycled telephone number from the PO) I decided that whilst I was at my computer to play p-0-rno audio down the line to them, interestingly the lady on the phone listened for a good 10 mins which got me a little worried and when I faded the audio out she shouted you dirty effing pig.0 -
Get a device called a Truecall - best £100 I ever spent.
It screens all calls, and if it gets a call from a number it doesn't recognise, it asks the caller to say their name, and then the phone rings and you get the choice of accepting or declining the call. Most telemarketers and scam artists can't be bothered going through all that, as they know you are unlikely to be taken in with a story. For friends and family, you put them on a white list and the calls come through normally. You can hit a button during the call to either whitelist or blacklist the call automatically.
I've had one for about 3 months, and I haven't had a single nuisance call. I was getting up to ten a day beforehand.
No connection with the company, just a happy customer. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
