Calm down and read the thread already linked and also complain to the McDonalds Manager of course. They cancel these every week, as shown in another top sticky thread 'Successful complaints about PPCs'. Easy.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

the guy is confused and bricking it , replies cost nothing so I am trying to get him to make sense of it all and not to put stuff on here that isnt true
so irrelevant or not, its my call if I wish to answer him , I did and I will
you do it your way , no problem, but I believe this guy needs more compassion that the simple wording in your reply, even though it is correct
for all we know its a free bay for 30 minutes or 15 minutes like the peel centre KFC near me, many of them are, certainly round here , so 10 minutes could form an appeal as he has a reasonable time to decide if he accepts a parking contract or exits the car park, clearly he exited the car park
in fact, the private car park near me has a McDonalds on it and also has a 4 hour parking limit, so if anyone got a ticket for 10 minutes there we would know instantly it was invalid and challenge it on that basis, Therefore the pictures of the signage would be crucial
until we know more , dont be so judgmental , even though I know you mean well
i know what you are saying but it eventually becomes like ground hog day on here......Proud to be a member of the Anti Enforcement Hobbyist Gang.:D:T0 -
totally agree m8, was hoping he would come back and tell us the first 20 minutes was free , that the contravention date was a week earlier than his hasty first post , possibly other info too, as the BB was clearly a red herring as its a private car park, despite what he may believe
I was actually phishing for more info, that may help him
in any case, my thoughts were that he decided he could not meet the terms of the parking contract so left within the first 10 minutes of arriving there, as is his wont to do so according to what I believe the BPA letter says (if you catch my meaning ?
)
so he was actually "more mistaken" in his first post than he realised

The thing is with Popla it really doesnt matter what you appeal on to the PPC, its just easy to say something like didnt see signs etc etc, it just doesnt seem to be worth effort doing war and peace when a simple approach works , no matter the circumstances.Proud to be a member of the Anti Enforcement Hobbyist Gang.:D:T0

I have'nt been able to sort this fine out,my wife ill in hospital since Xmas...I have had 2 further letters from UKPC...fine gone up twice from £50....to £160.00...DEBT COLLECTERS now...I have enough to payout Mortgage etc...So let them lock me up,cant be bothered now...all unfair0

we all agree its unfair, and we do sympathise with you too
BUT we cannot help you if you dont help yourself, hard as it may be
debt recovery letters can be ignored, its the court papers you have to be wary of now ( if they ever do issue any, or an LBA )0 -
A brief soft appeal to UKPC in December followed by a POPLA appeal would have nailed this for good - 2 email letters using templates on this forum.
But a line has now been crossed and you can only wait to see if UKPC take any further action. If they do issue court papers then suggest to the judge that the case be referred to POPLA and that both parties agree to be bound by that POPLA outcome. It might just work.
UKPC have 6 years to raise court proceedings so after an inital flurry of threatening letters it could all go quiet...
Sorry to hear of your wife being ill and I sincerely hope she makes a good recovery.0 -

They won't, almost certainly. They never did court in 2013 (except when THEY were taken to court - and lost).
You'll still get the usual series of threatograms though.

Sorry to hear the difficult times you are facing at the moment - and not doubt you do not want to hear what you should have done to get this cancelled as you've effectively missed this boat unless the registered keeper is different to the driver on that day.
From reading the brief information provided - it also appears that UKPC may possibly have issued the charge as a double dip (ie timing the drop off as first entry and then clocking the second exit you did after returning to pick up)
UKPC have not done court unless taken there themselves - although DRP letters have now starting to being passed to an offshoot of LPC law called the smallclaims service - should you receive one of these come back.
In the meantime - write a formal letter of complaint to Mcdon regarding this issue as there was no loss to them as a consequence - your son and friend were customers - write to branch and or head office. If part of a retail park - google and find management agents.
