Manchester airport hotel near train station?

I'm intending to stay at an airport hotel the night before my early morning flight (connecting to Heathrow). As it will be January I'm using the train rather than car. Which hotel is most convenient when arriving by train? Or is most convenient for Terminal 3? Thanks.

  • The map is on http://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/manweb.nsf/AttachmentsByTitle/map-airport-zoom.gif/$FILE/map-airport-zoom.gif

The Raddison Blu, to me is the most convenient as its actually attached to the walkway between the station and the terminals 1 & 2 and from memory terminal 3 just has an external walkway from the others

    Thanks for your reply.
    I've been considering that hotel.

I don't want to risk travelling by road in case we have awful weather so I think the best option is to get the train to the airport the day before.
I'm connecting to a flight from Heathrow and a few years ago I caught the train, then shuttle bus there-it was very hard to manage a heavy, large case on the train. Never again! Hence the early morning flight from Manchester.

The RadissonBlu is an excellent option for convenience of access to the airport, it's where I stayed when I last flew out of Manchester (and used their stay and park service). Like InsideInsurance I also seem to remember that the station is located between the hotel and the terminal that I used.

we always stay over at the radisson when we fly from manchester, especially in winter, we are also taking the train because of possible weather issues for our february holiday, we fly from terminal 2 though

The Radisson's position is a bigger advantage if you are flying from terminals 1 or 2. Terminal 3 is 10 minutes walk partly outside so getting the free airport bus is probably just as convenient. The Hilton is close to the railway station.

Thanks-I've looked at the maps and they don't really show the route to take from this hotel to the station or terminals.
The rest of the trip is clear-it's just this little query about how long will it take from hotel to T3.

    Thanks, that's helpful.
I'll expect to take longer as I'm a slow walker but it now gives me a more realistic idea of what time I'll have to leave the hotel.
  • We stay at Bewleys Hotel. We travel by car , but the sister in law travels by coach and calls the hotel free on the phone located at the Bus/Train station main exit. The mini bus then picks her up and takes her back to the hotel. In the morning the mini bus takes us all to the terminal ready for departure. Hope this helps !
