Amazon - Give refund but say to keep the product

  • I had a bizarre experience last year. I ordered a blu ray movie for about £20. It arrived, I watched it, put it on the shelf and forgot about it. A few weeks later I got an email saying that they have received my request to return the item and that I needed to send it to them and they'll issue a refund. I hadn't logged into the site and done the refund thing I was sure so I thought they'd made a mistake and they'd send me a correction email later so I forgot about it.

Anyway a few hours later I got an email saying that they'd received the item and they'd be sending the refund. Sure enough the money turned up in my account. Now i was sure I hadn't gone through the refund process but definetly sure I hadn't actually returned it since it was sat on the shelf. Really bizarre. To this day they've not said anything about it.

My daughter's just got a refund on a £6.99 book and has been told she doesn't need to return the book. It was one that she knew she'd ordered though ;-)
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

Although she also tried to get a refund a couple of weeks ago on a cheaper book and it would have cost her more to return it that it was worth. Maybe Amazon have relaxed there return policy over the Black Friday / Cyber Monday period because they can't cope with returns as well as their busiest time of the year for sales.
