Vodaphone trickery

I've had a Vodapone dongle for use with my laptop for years. It is a PAYG with non-expiring data credit. Well, it was but not now as Vodaphone put a note on my account to say that the credit will expire in January! Haven't seen anything in the press nor have they tried to make direct contact. Bit like paying for a car and the retailer deciding not to give you the car. There is a name for that, now what is it? Ah, yes, FRAUD. Can they legally terminate an agreement without recompense? Surely they should refund the cost of the dongle and reimburse me for the remaining credit?

This has actually been covered before - it's not fraud or trickery, simply a change in their tariff (which is fully allowable). The press wouldn't be interested in the change, but I gather PAYG customers were advised by SMS that thee was to be a change and how the revised scheme would work. There was also an equitable changeover where additional data was allowed before the switch to the new expiry-based system.

Nothing lasts for ever - if you want cheap data explore 3UK who are offering a much better deal per Mb.

Thanks for the response. I wasn't advised by SMS....only the note on my account which I only ever look at when I think to check my balance. That they are allowed to change their tariff price is one thing but to be able bring in a time cut-off for usage and force me to buy another dongle is an entirely different matter. I was sold the dongle on the basis that the data usage had no time limit.
