    Hi,

    ha ha, oops, :o, thanks.

You could use some cocktail sticks, push in then break off, or if you want a clean edge, push in and mark with your thumb nail, then cut, re-insert, dab with matching emulsion,

Or, tiny bits of kitchen towel poked into holes with pin, dab with matching emulsion.

Thanks for the responses It is wallpaper and unfortunately it is wallpaper which is blue / very pale cream stripe The nails are in the blue part. I took one nail out last night and you really see the hole. There are 4 in total and I hate the look just now. Spode and just don't look right in the new decor. I thought I should call my decorater and see what he can do. Wish I had left it alone seemed a bit bare at the time but now!! Hope I can resolve the problem
Again I do appreciate your help and advice,

    Toothpaste.
(Staple in american dorms, hiding thumbtack holes, I'm told.)
Just find one with blue stripes & blend for colour... Should smell OK too!
  • If you have any of the wall paper left, try on a sample piece, make a hole then glue a small piece to cover hole. Is it noticeable? If not do the same on the wall.

Can you colour match the blue add with filler then fill nail holes.

If in the future your going to hang picture/photo frames on the wall try and cover the holes with the frames.

Filler to fill the holes, then buy a matchpot of emulsion in the right shade to disguise the holes-just enough to cover the nail hole. You only see them because you know they are there-no one else will once repaired.

Find something else to hang on the wall that looks okay with the decor?

So many great ideas thank you all so much. Yes I have almost a full roll of paper left. I had a very large picture in this place but felt it was too large so now have it above my bed.
I don't for now have any idea of what I might put there but there are 4 plates so 4 holes in the wall.
I think I might speak to my decorator and feel sure that I could get a mixed emulsion which might be the best option or try to patch it with wallpaper. I am always making expensive mistakes or poor choices. I am absolutely useless at any DIY and I really stupid where DIY is concerned. What I really need is a handy man who could do little jobs I usually end up getting a joiner just to do a very little job so expensive.
You have all come up with some brilliant ideas
A number of years ago I had a bit of damage to wallpaper in my hall. The decorator came cut a little ragged bit put it in matching the pattern I have to look really hard to find it. The problem this time is that it is above eye level so very noticable.
