I just got a deal through mobilephonesdirect.co.uk for the new iPhone 5s in gold for £27 a month, with £129.99 upfront. Cheapest I've found.

The best deal is to buy the goods and service separately. Buy the iPhone from Apple and get a cheap SIM-only contract. As well as the overall cost saving, the iPhone won't be SIM-locked and you won't be locked into a long service contract while prices fall (particularly for 4G).

Apparently you didn't look very hard ;-)

As mentioned in multiple threads: you can have best iPhone deal buying iPhone 5c from unwanted upgrades.

For some unknown reasons users don't like 5c (I know, it's overpriced, but it's still good phone, better than 5, no matter what you can read elsewhere)
I found mine for £400 - 32GB, white, sim-free, just few days old. And with cheap sim-only deal it will beat any pay-monthly offer.
Not to mention using it with Ovivo.

And probably you can find it even cheaper now, especially if you don't need 32GB.

And yest, 5c IS better than 5 - has better 4G LTE chip (unlike iPHone 5 it supports all LTE bands possible) and much better case. It's plastic, but it's much better than 5 cheap speed-of-light-scratching alloy.

Obviously if you desperately need fingeprint reader to show off it's not for you ;-)
