Yeah I think it's 2 or 2.5 is half adult height.0

I'm pretty certain the age is 2, not 3.
I'm very short and so is my husband (5"2 and 5"6) and our son is 82cm @ 25 months. If I double that he'll be 164cm @ adulthood which is about 5"5ish? Sounds about right.
He's certainly not going to be a basketball player :rotfl:
You may be right there, actually! lol Now unsure!0 -
Chill. My daughter was always in the lowest centile and had her bones scanned to see her development. She is now 29 and only five foot, but lovely. It transpired that all her grandparents were small and ALL great grandparents were five foot or under, which is indeed small for men. I went on to have a son who is now 6'2". It frequently surprises me how big most kids of my LO's age are compared to her, not just height but broad too.
The adult height indicator (its double the height in cm on their 2nd birthday) puts her at 164 which is about 5 ft 4 inches so fairly average, maybe all her female nursery pals are destined to be catwalk models.
I don't believe height is the average of the two parents, you need to take gender into consideration, I think it comes down from one parent or other - as there can be a wide variation of heights between siblings. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
Comparing with other children can be misleading, so you did right to check against her own development.
My DD was the shortest of 5 friends all through her primary school and seemed about average compared to her whole class. Then she started a new secondary school with different friends, and suddenly she became the tallest in her class. It just happened that her primary school class had a over average tall girls.0 -

I'd take these figures with a pinch of salt.
OH snd I are the same as you. DS is 6'1". He was a long, thin baby, though, 6lb 2oz and 21 inches long.
I remember talking to someone else who had a tall son, in spite if him and his wife being short. He suggested looking at previous generations.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
