Is this definately an acceptable/legitimate way to protect impact on means tested benefits and isn't classed as deprivation of capital?
As stated before, I'm ignorant in the areas of Trusts. I'm aware that those receiving compensation awards for injuries are able to arrange trusts quite legitimately, for example.
It's not deprivation of assets because the person inheriting doesn't get the asset until after the second death.
It's often done as way of protecting part of the value of a property from being used for care home fees by the surviving partner/spouse.0 -

I'm not sure that's the case here as there were other beneficiaries.
OP - you've been asking similar questions for a very long time. The last thread I remember you were split up and before that you were claiming for 3 children and him 2, he had moved out. Given this, how did he get HB?
I'm not sure you can keep claiming single/joint/single/joint.
