    Hi guys!
Is it just me or has the month flown??!
I can't believe my last post was on the 5th!!
Anyway, I have done well this month, I am going to list it all now, add it up and we shall see if I have met target.
So I originally declared £78 for old phone, this was reduced to £65 due to water damage but still :money: so not too bad.
so that was £85 by day three...
    Since then I have had:
    -£100 for dance workshop
-£60 for three Zumba cover sessions
    -26p roadkill
    -£18 Zumba Gold cover
-£90 in overtime but I stopped counting it this week and last as its become main hours really for Christmas.
-ebay £160.33 (but minus the fees that will come will be about £20-30, so we will call it £130.)
    -£5 tip
-£25 gift card as a present but I used for my xmas shopping and overpayed a debt so I'm counting it
    That means that I am on....£428.26!!!!!!!!! :T:T:T

no wait, with my phone sale added on (and not the original ebay amount cuz I took the total for the whole month) that is £493!!!! EEEEEEEEE happy days!
    Don't turn a slip up into a give up:D
*NSD Challenge Nov 0/10* *£10 a day challenge Nov £0/£300*
No buying unnecessary toiletries challenge-in it for the long haul

Mavvymoo I am seriously impressed that you had the inner strength to donate all of your stepsons gifts to the Sally Army. I suspect many of us have felt like doing something similar at times but not been brave enough to carry it through. I'm sure (or hope) that this makes him think twice about his actions. From experience I know that you have to be strong and stick to your promises or threats otherwise they have no respect for you. My stepson once asked me why I wasn't like other stepmothers who try to buy the child off. I told him he is treated exactly as my own daughter was and if he didn't like it that was tough. I have rules and I explain why I have the rule if you break it I carry out the punishment. One year all the Christmas sweets were removed after fair warning. It never happened again :rotfl: He is now 19 and we get on great and have mutual respect.:D

    Chez x[/QUOTE]

Thanks for this yes I know its harsh but same as you he probably has more respect for me than anyone.
But when you catch him with drugs :eek:on Friday and then on the Saturday you get a phone call from the police to say he has been arrested for shoplifting  in Primark
The same day you get a letter from the College to say they are kicking him out in Jan  Something has got to be done :(
Can I help him really not sure anymore but if he was my son I gladly would have put him though the wall on Saturday night. But he is not and as you know as as step parent you cant overstep the mark. But as he has done nothing to deserve presents he will not get them.
The best bit was I dragged him with me and told everyone in there why I was bringing them in :D:D:D Which tbh made me feel so much better.
He is 16 and thinks he is such a big man.So he can now be treated like an adult and take the consequences of his actions.
The thing that really annoyed me more than anything when I asked him why he stole from Primark when he had £150 on him that his Grandma had given him for Christmas :eek: He said for a bit of fun and that made my blood boil !!!

I am still fuming about it and seriously considering my next move.
I will once again wish you all a very happy Christmas and thank you for all your inspiration and support :T

    Mav x

I have just re read this and am laughing for the first time in a while as it sounds like a episode of Eastenders as we all know how far fetched they can be x

  • Thanks everyone for their get well wishes.

Mav, a HUGE respect for you. After reading what he has done, I would have done exactly the same. I'm not one for empty threats. If i give my kids a fair warning and they still misbehave then I carry the threat out. My eldest HATES getting her phone taken off her, and because I have carried it out, whenever i threaten her with it she stops doing whatever it is.

Wishing you all a very merry christmas and a healthy and happy new year

    Hi Mav

Well done to you for standing your point, and taking his presents to the Sally Army.

My niece works for a local prison, and her job is to talk to the young offenders and talk to them about what they want to do when they come out of prison. ie get a job, where or return to education etc. She said it is harder now as they are locked up for longer hours. She said this in turn makes them more violent and prone to fights when they are allowed out to have "recreation" time.

Maybe a visit to one of these institutions and seeing what happens to them, would deter his behaviour?

Good luck with the chemo Rosie. We all have our fingers and toes and everything else crossed that the Chemo does it's job and kills those cancer cells. xxx

Merry Christmas to you and yours Rosie.

Ebay have free listing again from 25 December to 5 January 2014

Ooh thanks for the heads up! I always list at 99p so free anyway but will use this to put a few more pricey items up!

Though I still have a 10 items/month limit on my account so a bit restricted. Anyone know if this resets every calendar month or every 30 days?
