Oooo....I have that set :T Right, I think I'll be experimenting over the summer holidays with DD - she's quite happy to take pasta "salad" (cold pasta with ketchup & parmesan :rotfl: ) but maybe we can make her lunches a bit more fun and healthy

Bizzimum: I've been making packed lunches since January, and was really fed up with them and like you found them a real chore. Since making 'bento style' boxes I haven't found it half as bad. In fact its quite therapeutic in a strange kind of way!!!!
I can see how they would be sort of therapeutic
I've been making packed lunches since my eldest started secondary school so only for 4 years. I couldn't imagine making them from when they first started school aged 3 to now
I've shown my 15 & almost 13yr old the bento's and they're not that fussed.
Mr Quackers? He wants Bento NOW:rolleyes: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
Right, I'm doing some quality shopping on ebay this eve.
Bento boxes and mineral make upde do-do-do, de dar-dar-dar0 -
Hi everyone!
The bento boxes look great!
I am currently bidding on two thermos bento boxes on ebay.
Its me that is the problem where lunch is concerned. I nag my OH about eating regularly but I am even worse, now I am keen to lose weight, I need to regulate my eating but I hate sandwiches! I would happily eat salad or rice though.
So I thought - bento!
I also have some of these boxes from Lakeland that are good for storing a few blueberries, salad dressing or yoghurt portions:

As there are ten and I am unlikely to use them all, I went halves with Mum and we had 5 each.
As I travel so much, I rarely have access to a microwave, so it looks like my only option is a thermos style container. Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

I got some boxes in Morrisons yesterday. They're on offer. Thin enough to pack firmly so nothing rattles around but deep enough I think to get some little pots in for yoghurt. I'll post a picture if I can manage to do anything interesting with them! I'm hoping the weaning pots from Wilkos (3 for £1) will fit inside to put yoghurt in!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

oooo, I saw some in there yesterday too
Are they divided into 2 compartments. 1 sandwich size & 1 about 1/2 that?
2 for £3 I think?
I nearly got some too but have far too many lunch box type thingsSometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
Aaagh; I'm gutted. I put three bento style boxes in the last car boot sale I did, because I couldn't imagine using them for anything0

No, quacks, they're just plain, flattish 'tupperware' type boxes. They didn't have those others or I'd have got them. Typical!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

There's another great bento lunch website here:

It's one of my favourite food blogs even though I don't need to pack lunches for anyone.Sealed Pot Challenge 5 - #1742 :j0 -
