I've just checked mine and it's the same one. Too big for me, I'll keep looking for the smaller one ;)

Oh right, maybe we are just gannets, eating loads :) I had no problem filling it up. :D
  • My dd has been taking her bento lunches to school and loving them. She's such a fussy eater but her box has been coming home empty most days :j
I sent her with the aladdin bento one day last week so she could have a hot lunch but it was cold by lunchtime. I tried it out myself at home and it definitely didn't hold the heat. I filled it with boiling water first and the put the boiling hot lunch into it but the food was cold. The lunch is in the box for 4 hours before it's eaten. I was really disappointed it didn't work :(
  • It is so hard to get a reliable thermal container. Believe it or not the worst container I had was a thermos wide mouth flask, 2 hours max before the food was cold. What use is that to anyone?

Double walled stainless steel containers seem to work the best, well best that I have found anyway!

Hi everyone! I received my bento bits from Japan the other day, super fast delivery! Waiting on one more parcel... (done 3 in total sshh...) Made my first bento for dd and dh a couple of days ago and dd ate it all! :) Dh laughed when he saw his bento lunch! Took it to work and apparently his work mates commented on it, as he wants something like that for his kids! Lol! Ok, i want to post pics but how do i do it? Never posted pics before... HELP! :p

I also ordered a couple of bento books from Amazon and they are fab! Great detailed pictures and i love the recipes in them! I got- Kawaii Bento Boxes, Face Food and Yum Yum Bento Box! Went to a Oriental shop this morning and bought some goodies to put into dh and dd lunches tomorrow! Managed to pick up some shrimp chips/crisps which reminded me of my childhood trips to the cash and carry and dad always buying a pack to shut me up! LOL! Not sure if my dd will like it though...

Aww that is a shame Seashell, that it didn't stay hot, take it back to the shop, it is not fit for purpose and it is not cheap, you would expect it to work properly.

Ami, I know, the seller in Japan is so fast and he sends emails to say it has been shipped, I got mine within 4 days, sellers in the UK are not always that fast.

I need to show you this, my DD's reaction to the cute picks:

she said: "Look mum, they are BMA's now" (Best Mates Always), she has stuck all the picks into one bit of chicken. Maybe my teenager likes cute animal picks after all :rotfl::rotfl:

YAY! My 1st pic! Thank you mumoftwo! This is dd bento of 2 mini cucumber tortilla wraps, left over roast potato made into funny faces with flower carrot hair! Some cucumber bits on picks, butterfly potatoes, some gammon strips and for her treat, rainbow drop rice puffs with a rabbit and bear tortilla faces! :)
