Guaranteed Halifax All in One- Can I Ask for Reward Clarity Instead?

    I believe you can get Clarity in branch only. So you need to ask in branch.

    Remember the Clarity has no introductory rate and they could charge you 21.9% if accepted.

    I have a Reward Clarity card and they gave me a 21.9% APR. The only difference is that I get charged a bit more interest when I withdraw cash. However, it really is pennies in the grand scheme of things and the £5 reward more than covers it.

    Went in branch while I was in town today and got approved for a Halifax Clarity, no problems.

    So with Aqua going and since I have maxed the Amex Platinum intro bonus I'll be putting spend through Clarity until £300 then anything leftover can go onto the Amex :)
  • 11 REWARD PAYMENT
    11.1
    If you meet the requirements set out in condition 11.2, then for any statement period in which you:-
    (a) make at least £300 of Purchases (once any Purchases refunded in that period have beend deducted);
    (b) stay within your credit limit; and
    (c) make your minimum monthly payment;

    you will qualify for a £5 credit to your account in the following month. The credit will not be treated as a payment to your account under these conditions.

    11.2 To be eligible for the reward set out in condition 11.1, you must, at the time you enter into this agreement:-
    (a) hold a Halifax current account and pay in £1,000 or more each month;
    (b) use our switching service to move your current account to a Halifax Current Account and agree to pay in £1,000 or more each month;
    (c) open or hold a Halifax Ultimate Reward Current Account.

    This is from the T&Cs for the Clarity card linked by KTF above. So if the regular Clarity gets the £5, what extra do you get with the Reward card?

    It appears to be one and the same thing. Just certain customers get a fiver and others don't.
  • Can someone please confirm if it's possible to upgrade a Halifax Clarity Credit Card to a Halifax Clarity Reward Credit Card. I do have a Reward Current Account, have spent over £300 on it, met all the terms required but haven't received the £5 reward on the credit card. I always receive it on my Reward Current Account. I rang my Halifax branch and they said they didn't think there was any difference on the cards. So I should receive the £5. Ringing the Credit Card customer services, they told me the clarity card has to be cancelled and a new one issued. Seems ridiculous, but not unexpected lol. Anyone know the correct info?

    I was given exactly the same information by Halifax customer services a long time ago. The Clarity card has to be cancelled and then you have to re-apply for a Clarity Reward card as they can't just upgrade it.

    I cancelled then applied and got rejected!!

    I've since read that the standard Clarity card works as a reward card. It seems Halifax CS don't know so anecdotal evidence is the best you're going to get I think.
