I would take it into consideration as part of the 'package'.
Well that's fine if you are already in work and looking to move or have a choice of a couple of job offers, but as the OP appears to be unemployed and looking at unskilled factory work, there is no "package" to look at, only "a job" or "no job".

The board is for getting advice although some threads are going downhill. It would be pretty silly of me not to ask questions and not know where i stand.:footie:0

I hope you are not going to ask this of a potential employer when you at an interview.
If you have two offers of employment at the same time, you can ask them for their staff handbook so that you can find out without asking the specific question.
If you have only one offer, an unknown policy of whether you would be eligible for more than SSP should not prevent your accepting.0 -
Right what advice are you after again?? We do not know the answers for each employer in the UK as we are not the potential employer but if I was Id not give anyone the job who asked that at all.The board is for getting advice although some threads are going downhill. Reading this thread made me realise I didn't actually know what my sick pay entitlement was, despite being in the job for nearly a year. It just hasn't crossed my mind before. It certainly wouldn't be something I'd consider if I was applying for a job.
(4 months full pay BTW, checked my contract)0 -
I used to get 2 weeks at full pay and 2 weeks at half pay, then it went to ssp for anything longer. Still not a question I would ask at interview and no this board really, OP do you intend to go sick? or even want the job if it's offered.0
