No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries December 2013

I had a sample of a makeup primer in a birchbox a while ago and have found that it really helps my makeup stay on, especially my mineral foundation. It started spluttering this morning and I thought I would check the website just for info and realised I had enough points to buy a full size one for free! So I'm one happy camper now.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170

Im struggling not to want the No7 offer of the week eek. I will use most of the stuff even the make up bits so its probably good value but of course I don't need it...I do however have loads of Boots points:money: eeek what to do!Debt free and busy treating myself:)
No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales0 -

I wouldn't worry about the size of your stash, I'd just like to confess that is about the size I am trying to get my hoard down tobut every one on here has a different idea of what an acceptable level of stash is :rotfl:
One UU today,
Small pot of Bare Minerals foundation in Fairly Light from the starter set, WNBA in this shade, it was too pale even for me! Have been mixing a little bit into my full size pot of Medium foundation in the mornings. I still have the Light shade left from the starter set but this is far too yellow for my rosy cheeks so will try to mix it with the Medium and see what happens.
I have been planning on going on a little expedition (round trip about 70miles) to try and get colour matched for Bare Minerals Foundation but, in the meantime I have sent for samples of Lily Lolo ones, they should arrive in a few days. I don't have a great deal of make up, my only real weakness is in trying to find an inexpensive HG mascara, so mascara is the only makeup item I list on here.
As a Hirons groupie I have been entering her daily giveaways, but nothing to add to the stash as yet.
Babafette - try not to feel got at, 99% of my friends and family would feel I was completely nuts if they saw the extent of my toiletries collection, I did so myself, that is why I have been beavering away at using things up for the last 2 years LOL and only 1 person IRL (another nail polish nut like me) knows about my 300+ bottles of nail polish.
Asset - I hope that you are OK and ready to start a new period of your life where you will be valued. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

Right, brace yourself!
Welcome piratey! Well I'm braced and waiting for the shock…where is itMy stash is probably one of the larger ones, started at 400, currently down to 350. It does include all makeup and essential oils as well though
On that note…three UUs to report. Two done, and one that will be a UU first thing in the morning.
Molton Brown anti-bacterial rok mint fine liquid hand wash 30ml freebie with purchase from MB. Nice but nothing special WNBA.
Liz Earle nourishing botanical body cream 30ml this was part of a set bought for me by a friend a year or two ago. The cream is lovely and sinks in without leaving a sticky residue which is a huge bugbear of mine, not sure I'd spend £18 on a 200ml tube though. WMBA
Liz Earle botanical body wash 30ml this will be done first thing in the morning. It's a lovely light scent but doesn't linger and for me is not special enough to spend £12 a bottle on.
I've opened my sample pots of eucerin even brighter day and night cream. I received these as a free trial in the summer, and decided my skin could do with a little boost. I'm approaching 30 and have very fair skin so have a little sun damage but otherwise very little for this to 'put right'. That being said, applying my makeup this morning I noticed I needed less bb cream only a day in. Whether it's a light reflecting pigment in the day cream or something else I don't know yet, but I imagine these pots will last me a good three weeks or so, so it will be interesting to see by the end.
This week is going to be difficult, I'm exhausted and am taking cold preventatives like crazy to try and avoid the sickness all around me. I just want to get to the Christmas break without coming down with a cold or flu, so I'm trying to take good care of myself this week. Pampering, relaxing whenever I can. Fingers crossed!0 -
Fellow beauty mouth followers and other people on here that use exfoliating toners, what was your experience when you first started using them?
I started using the REN AHA exfoliating toner (can't remember full name) a couple of weeks ago and since then I have started to get some really sore spots under the skin. I used to have acne but my skin has been really clear for the past 6 months or so. The only thing I have changed is starting to use the REN. I am wondering whether it is because all the gunk in my skin is coming to the surface (nice!) and that my skin will then clear up again?
Don't know what to do! I am very unhappy about having acne again after battling with it for over 13 years!!0 -

Two more UUs -
16. NSpa salt scrub - WNBA, leaves you really greasy!
17. Nivea Express Hydration Primer - WNBA, more of a moisturiser than a primer, and have a HG day cream already.
That takes my stash down to 74can't believe it! I reckon that tere's 41 more items to go until I've graduated - I've ditched 120 something since September!
:T wow that's amazing!!seasideDreamer wrote: »Some UUs:
- LUSH Christmas Eve bubble bar, like this but like others have said there's not much fragrance to it now.
Maybe you didn't get a good fresh one? They still smell great to me and my nose is well numbed by working there loadsI'm not quoting, but I don't like that feeling of being judged again.......That was one of the reasons I stopped posting a couple of years ago. We all have our reasons for stashing and we all know we have a bit of a problem hence why we are seeking support from one another. Sorry if I'm being over sensitive.
.
I know what you mean Babafette but I don't think the person meant any harm...
People need to be careful how things get interpreted through type though, it can be read completly the wrong way.:(

My nail polish collection is a similar size to yours too maddiemay - I belong to another forum for nail polish addicts (NPAA which began as a thread on MSE) which you are welcome to join if you are so inclined. Just PM me if you are interested and I'll forward you the details.
I had another couple of near purchasing incidents on Saturday. I was having a mooch around the charity shops and spotted a couple of Champneys sets for under £5. I was feeling a bit down and I know that's when I'm at my weakest, but I did manage to leave them where they were so I'm feeling a little proud of myself. :ATime may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician....0 -
Thanks everyone! I am inspired by how well you are all doing!
My first UU this morning, V05 dry shampoo. I keep eyeing up my shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen and one of my lip balms, I can see they're getting low. Exciting stuff! No more goo hoarding!
