Best network for coverage?

Options
My contract runs out soon and I need a new phone!

Just was wondering who should I go with, Vodafone at the moment for me has very poor signal, I hardly ever get 3G, doe this happen to anyone else?

Been looking at 3 network for a Note 3. Are they a good provider? Cheers for the help!!

  • Coverage entirely depends on the area you are going to be using your phone in. Each network has their own coverage map you can check on but be aware they are not always 100% accurate. A good way of checking is to pick up a payg sim for the network you fancy and check the internet/calls that way.
  • For me I am in Derby and Vodafone for me is quite poor :(

But is it poor all over Derby ???
Or just where you live .

But as the lady says you need to do some homework .
  • If you're buying a new phone anyway you may be able to stay with Vodafone as the latest phones on Vodafone and O2 have something called 3G900 which gives much better coverage than the 2100Mhz used by the other networks for 3G services.
The 900 Mhz band gives better indoor coverage than 2100Mhz so in your position I would check this out first. Network Three operates at 2100Mhz but as stated above it is a good idea to check with neighbours about their coverage on various networks.
Basically if you are getting a good 2G signal for voice and texts then 3G900 would give about the same coverage for 3G data.

Certainly in Salford, Three's coverage has been appalling in recent weeks. At one point all 3 masts (local to me) were out of action and they've still no date for repair of the local one which has been out of service since early December.
