Custardy provides an insight and opinion that myself and others obviously like & enjoy to read. The fact that someone is opposed to what he does just sounds a bit like sour grapes to me. Infact the fact a thread was even started blatantly shows this!
  • Actually no it isnt sour grapes. WHen a user of a service complains, he is quick to jump in saying "Its due to the cuts we posted a red card" or "not our fault we lost the letter"

Other company reps need permission to post, he seems to get away defending a company to the hilt.

I see Postman pats puppet has taken a shine.

    Who posted those comments?
    Any links?

As I have already told you. Pat works for a rival company. Did I type too fast?

I wouldn't say he's a company puppet at all. He often gives an honest insight into the way RM works. I have often answered questions about a company I previously work for. It's not "defending them", it's giving a balanced opinion of why things are how they are, whether that be good, bad or whatever.
Many people on these forums, me included, appreciate Custardy's input, whether or not we like it is irrelevant, the knowledge is useful.

What most of us don't like, however, is some sad little troll following users around the forum bitching about him on any thread he may post on with regards to RM.
Especially when you're a new user with a mainly pointless post count.

Ive read that users posts he will defend royal mail to the hilt even where they are clearly wrong.

I have to disagree. I thought that at first (and I think that was the case then) but now *that user* will condemn RM where appropriate.

I too find their posts insightful and useful.

You might think there's merit in a thread from a disgruntled semi-troll trotting out the same old 'if someone disagrees with me they're working for the company' or some such similar nonsense but I think it's yawnsville, pointless done-to-death-already tripe.

We get this all the time on the loans board - a lot of us have FS experience and the minute that we tell a new poster that their plan for getting their loan written off on a perceived technicality won't work, or tell them it's their own fault a "loan broker" has taken money from their account, we are accused of working for the company concerned.

    Well put.

It seems that if you post "in support" of a company by offering information that you've picked up, but it's not what some people want to hear you can get branded as a puppet/employee etc, it's quite boring really.

Custody may not always post stuff I agree with, but his insight is usually informative and helpful.

These forums are here generally for advice, not for everyone to nod and say "yes you're right" when the person asking a question or complaining is in the wrong, or misinformed.

It annoys me that if someone has a complaint about a company then the staff of the company on here will defend it to the hilt and point to errors in spelling when they know your right.

    Sorry just annoys me

And it annoys me no end when I get accused of being on the staff of companies.

I've been accused of working for Subway (as have many others) and Premier Inn to name but two. I've also been accused of being paid (but no clue as to who could be paying me?) to post.

The only effect of such accusations is that sensible advice is ignored. Everyone makes mistakes; it's just that some of us try to learn from them!

I'm always being accused of working for eBay or PayPal, usually when people don't want the truth and just want people to reinforce their incorrect views.

I don't always agree with custardy but he has been extremely useful to me when I have had issues in the past.
