If you're going to be patronising, you might like to at least be correct about it.
There have been several instances of the database not being properly updated at the time the MOT is done due to operator error and software or hardware glitches

There have been problems with this new system since its inception.

Ten years ago. They're all resolved, long since.

Have a look at any MOT issued in the last year or two - it's just a white sheet of printed A4. On it, it's quite clear that the paper is just a receipt. The actual important record of the MOT is what's stored in VOSA's database. No entry on there, no MOT.
Though you already knew that, didn't you?

You must have an MOT certificate valid 30 days after the tax disc starts, caught me out once as my MOT/tax expired at similar times.

According to the Post Office, the MoT must be valid on the DAY the disk starts. There is no phantom 30 days for an unspecified future date!

Online, I got my disk with 4 days left on my MoT.
  • The MOT only has to be valid for minutes before getting a new tax disc.

Fair enough, not how the DVLA explained it to me but good to know.

    Cheers
