Go back to the MOT test centre and see if they can give you a copy. If not get another MOT....then you can get your tax tomorrow.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

As they are now electronic and the op tried on line it would suggest the MOT has expired.

Go here, get your VC5 (log book)
    and follow the guide.
    https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-status

If it says you have no MOT, you have NO MOT.
End of story, no mistake and first ANPR police car you pass you are getting a fixed penalty notice.
    Be happy...;)

If you have your logbook you can use the mot checker service and also view the mot history.

Not sure if you can print off another piecd of paper like you were given by the mot station. Since technically they no longer issue a certificate like previously.

It is possible that the mot station computer is the problem. Or as mentioned it has runout.

First order of business check your mot history online.

If you try the pre-booked test, they ask you for the garage and call them, they then ask them to read a list of all cars booked for MOT that day.
They do not let them know your registration.

If they get no answer from the garage or just can not be bothered with excuses they will write a ticket and let you prove it at court later.

They have got so tight lately, you better have all your ducks in a very neat row.
    Be happy...;)

Really, so there isn't a central database?

I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you are actually asking making a genuine contribution

There have been several instances of the database not being properly updated at the time the MOT is done due to operator error and software or hardware glitches

There have been problems with this new system since its inception.

Though you already knew that, didn't you?
  • I had my MOT done and soon as I got home 10 mins later I checked the online database and my MOT was there. So the MOT database must be live e.g. not just updated once a day.

It is live but the system is only as good as the equipment, I had an mot a couple of years ago and got my printed copy but when I tried to tax my van online a month later it said not mot'd, went back to the garage and it turned out then they were not connected to the main computer for over a week and loads of mot's were not registered.
