I don't think I got the Job

Yes, that bit is clear, but just where did he say he had work experience in one?
In a previous thread where he got sacked for refusing to wear a different t-shirt to the "no one knows I'm gay" one.
Which had been the subject of yet another previous thread where someone at the job centre was homophobic because the told him not to wear it to meetings.0 -

Got sacked from a charity shop?
If so, fair enough, objection withdrawn, carry on
gay_guy: whilst it may bother you applying for jobs you have no skills or experience in because of what the job centre might think (it shouldn't do btw, at least you're trying!),,,you could always send off a speculative letter/application. I often see jobs I don't have the 'required' experience in and sometimes think it would be pointless applying so I send off an 'on spec' instead. Just a thought0 -

To be honest AP007 picks on a few people on most unemployment boards! I have read most off them, though don't comment. Not everyone has the amount off qualifications that she does. Some off us will always struggle to find work for one reason or another.
eg.. long gaps in employment history, living in rural areas, limited education, no driving license, stay at home carers, learning difficulties, mental health problems, disabled people who have been victimised by ATOS and thrown onto JSA as being FIT for work, when they obviously are not! The list is endless!

The amount of qualifications I have? What are those then? I don't think I have said on here.
I come from a working class family in a poor borough and never went to uni only comprehensive school by the way and had a Saturday job when I was 13 1/2 years old
long gaps in employment history - yes me
limited education - I only went to school like everyone else
no driving license - cant drive
stay at home carers - no but am looking after my mum a bit now
learning difficulties - erm not that I know of
mental health problems - maybe, how do we knowWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

This puzzles me OP. You're clearly sensitive about this, since you keep accusing people of being homophobic. In which case why do you shout your sexuality from the rooftops? Is it so you can cry foul if you don't like what folk are saying?0

I am not saying that gay guy did not have the right to defend himself, he did, certainly he should speak up if he feels picked on as anyone should BUT he should keep his sexuality out of it, it is completely irrelevant (unless of course AP007 has said something against being gay, which there is no evidence of on this thread) The OP is not struggling to find work due the fact he is gay. Potential employees will not even know this fact.0 -

They will have a good chance of knowing, in his previous threads he was determined to tell the whole world he was gay, regardless of if they were interested or not. Also no I am not special, I just like everyone to know I am gay
Who say's I was making a issue with my sexuality? I am just proud of my sexuality and I shouldn't have to keep in the closet!Well since I am a straight acting gay guy, if I didn't wear my gay tshirt no one will know I am gay

I'm not about on here much, but that one I do remember.
It comes across to me that the OP is all up for talking about what won't get him in to work ("they don't like me cause I'm gay", "my maths isn't good enough", "I don't have any experience", I'm paraphrasing, but you get the picture) but not what will get him in to work. If he spent less time shouting about how he's being wronged by other people, and more time improving how employable he is to prospective employers, he'd have had a job long ago.
There are genuine reasons why people can't get work. But living in Burnley and not finding anything for 2-3 YEARS? You have to start looking at and improving yourself instead of blaming everyone and everything else. There will be reasons no-one will take you on.
edit: before I'm told I know nothing about the job market in Burnley, I was born there, lived in that region all my life until August and even found work there in 2 months earlier this year.Professional Data Monkey
