Anybody know how to get cheaper lounge pass @ Newark Airport United Club (Terminal C)

  • You can buy a one day pass for United lounges - I think it's around $50. The lounges at Newark are not particularly great, though they are better than the rest of the airport. I use it fairly regularly though as it has aircon, showers and clean toilets - if you've ever had the misfortune to fly through Newark you'll know how atrocious their loos are.

    Thanks!

Turns out I won't be in the airport for nearly as long either way now, just a few hours at a time, so maybe i'll do it if I need the shower etc but now I'm not so worried..

I do however have to do it in Bogota airport twice :D

You can get worldwide exc USA cheaper than inc USA. Some policies that exclude USA allow up to 5 days in a different country or at the very least stopovers as long as you don't leave the airport.

It's the time of the flight, I like to be there 2 hours before and I fly at 8:38. so Ideally 6:40 at the airport.

I'm sorry if that didn't make sense ;)

Oh right I assumed if you were in a USA airport youd need the inc USA insurance and youre right that can be a fair bit pricier - although what happens if you got ill at the airport and got whisked off to a hospital?!

Ah its just above it said 8.58 and I was wondering why youd need to be there so far in advance.
  • The Marriott is only hotel on airport grounds and depending on your luggage situation you can walk through the car park to the hotel in about 3 mins or so from terminal B. They have a shuttle but that can take longer as you may have to wait for 15 mins

We had a good rate via hotels.com so maybe worth a look for a comfy few hours sleep

Check out your flight into Newark on flight stats and see if it regularly arrives early. Ours was due in at 10.30pm and we landed around 9.15 I think, so I think we were all tucked up for a nights kip around 11pm

i wouldn't be messing around with trains at that time of night for such a short visit. Its New Jersey Transit you need to look at if you do want info though. You get the Air Tran monorail from whatever terminal into Newark airport train station and then transfer to a NJT train
