Anybody know how to get cheaper lounge pass @ Newark Airport United Club (Terminal C)

Anybody know how to get cheaper lounge pass @ Newark Airport United Club (Terminal C)

Ideally for one trip, got a stopover, arrive 10:30pm and leave 08:58 so some creature comforts without going to a hotel would be cool at the right price :S Probably will be more than I want to spend but worth a search! So I thought I'd open it up to the knowledgable ones on here!

Thanks

Not sure that any lounge opens 24 hours a day, they certainly don't want people using it as a hotel and my experience of United Lounges is that they leave a lot to be desired and should be used for the shortest period possible. You must either book a hotel or take your chance on the seats in the main airport.

I don't particularly fancy a hotel for a solid 4/5 hour sleep. I can do a version of that inflight

If your flight lands at 10.30 and you're out in an hour or so and you don't need to be back at the airport til around 7am the next day you could get a whole nights sleep at a hotel?

You'd be right. But I'd wanna be in the airport for 6:38, so probably 6am out the hotel. So a potential 12-5am kip. Not bad, maybe. Then again, I don't need to pay for the extra insurance if I don't leave the hotel (confirmed by alpha travel insurance) in my case, so unless it was a hotel on the airport premises then I'd have to pay the extra insurance too, for the privilege of leaving the airport. As I'm away from 3 months for this trip, it all counts :)

    Extra insurance for what exactly?

Where are you flying the next day that you need to be at the airport so early?

You can get worldwide exc USA cheaper than inc USA. Some policies that exclude USA allow up to 5 days in a different country or at the very least stopovers as long as you don't leave the airport.

It's the time of the flight, I like to be there 2 hours before and I fly at 8:38. so Ideally 6:40 at the airport.

I'm sorry if that didn't make sense ;)

Manhatten is 25 mins away on the train, stow your bag and go drinking, that'll pass the time nicely.

I read about that actually, pretty good idea. I'd have to pay the extra for the INC USA insurance with some insurance providers. So may not be worth it. Although the provider that offered 5 days in any other country, that would be fine. I'm not sure how I feel about spending 11pm to 6am in manhattan :D Sounds fun tho.
