Flies can be hard to avoid and if they are there, they will go on the food.

I booked a holiday with 5 others in january to go to zante in greece.
We asked for all inclusive food, flights, and trips out. Which the thomas cook branch promised us.
The others dont seem to mind about the following money lost but i do.

I paid £600 in total for this holiday,
we went in january
When we got there, we had to all shell out £170 each for trips, and the food in the hotel, was filled with flies and undercooked food etc....so we ended up eating elsewhere for the week
Thomas cook dont seem to care about the money, so i have filled a case with the mcol, stating the facts,
on the 27/11/13, they have filed an acknowledgement of service, does that mean from the 27th they have another 14 days?
States a week, I think this is quite expensive for a week in June so would expect a decent hotel for that price. Also states flies in food, I agree with others that this cannot be helped unfortunately, although I wouldn't expect it to be a regular thing.
Thomas Cook will expect you to of voiced your dissatisfaction whilst in resort as that is what they provide a rep for. If you didn't, the likelihood is you won't receive any form of compensation as you didn't give them a chance to rectify it at the time.0 -
Sorry didn't realise that it stated a week, in that case yes it is a lot to pay and I would expect the hotel to be of a good standard. When I said flies or insects I mean flies or creepy crawlies like cockroaches etc. As everyone else has said both are unacceptable, however flies are just more common at that time of year.
I suppose it all depends on what the customer did whilst on holiday now and whether or not they spoke up at the time.Lea

Thanks for your replies, yes i did state to the rep that i was dissatisfied with the food however he didn't seem to bothered and did nothing about it. & i don't believe he works for Thomas cook either.
The kitchen area, where the food was laid out, there was no precautionary measures to prevent flies etc. E.g with fly board units, or any other measure.
I can confirm yes, it was only a week, Arriving Sunday then leaving the following Sunday.
Also in regards to the trips, when we booked the holiday within the local branch with the thomas cook advisor, funnily enough called Mr thomson(Maybe working at the wrong place) he stated all this would be included in the cost of the holiday. Sadly the branch shut a month before we left to go, so it was a bit of a dead end when we got back0 -
What does your travel invoice say?
If the trips are not on there then they were not included and you will not win anything from the travel company for them.
You also say that you complained about the food whilst in resort - did you fill out a complaints form? Did you get a copy? If not your word against theirs.0 -

Yes i filled out a complaints form to Thomas cook and as a goodwill gesture they sent me a £100 voucher* to share with 5 other people.
however to redeem that voucher i have to spend more money with them......
