Does anyone use a pie making machine?

  • Update: We have just tried out the pie maker and for the first attempt we only cooked one pie, with bought ready-rolled pastry and leftover turkey, stuffing and gravy for filling. It was a great success and we have now put in another four for lunch :)

I think the little pies are probably easier to cook properly than the larger type as it might be hard to get the filling to heat through without burning the top of the pastry.

I always heat the filling up before putting it in the pies, that way it is still really hot when served up.
  • Wish I'd known about these deep fill ones ( 4.5cm depth) before buying the Lakeland one, it's good, but can only take a couple of spoonfuls of filling as it's only 2.5 cm deep. X

We haven't been disappointed with the pies we have made so far and the are roughly the same size as pukka pies. I find the only problem is lining them with pastry, you sometimes need lots of hands instead of the 2 you have.
