Does anyone use a pie making machine?

Afternoon all, does anyone here use a pie making machine?

I have been looking at the for ages and really can't make up my mind whether I think they are good or not? I try not to use the oven for just a pie but having one of these would mean I don't need to switch the oven on and they only take about 10 minutes to cook.

Any opinions very welcome.

Yes I have two, one 4 pie and one 2 pie, I don't use the 4 pie much as on my own but use the 2 pie frequently, they are very good and save a great deal on fuel.

  • Thanks Meg, that has settled it for me too. The four one would work perfect as DH could have 2 (he has his figure to look after you know!) and DD and I would have one each :D

So pleased you have both decided to get one. This one has £30 off making it 19.99 at amazon, for some reason could only copy the pic not the link.

  • Meg, are the pies like Pukka pie size or more like mince pie size?

I have one, some tv cook or other has her name on it - the Irish girl. Its rather good the pies are inbetween mince pie and Pukka. You can definatelty churn out pies for the frrezer if you have a pan of stew or excess fruit. The crust can be quite thin and comes out lovely and crisp. I freeze them cooked and they are still crispy when defrosted and warmed through. The possibilities for fillings are endless - anything works and they are easy to keep clean. Think I may have a session with mine this weekend and do mince and apple pies for Christmas.

Mine is inbetween I wold say, although I can use smaller cutters and make mincepie size. It depends on which one you get, some are described as mini and these are tiny but noticed online you can buy full sixe deepfill ones now.

Thanks Meg. Have just ordered one from Amazon. DH loves pies but I don't make them very often because I tend not to eat pastry very often so I can make a few at a time and shove them in the freezer and just defrost and reheat.
