But she's not purchased an item, this is a savings scheme like hp ..

But HP isn't a savings scheme.

HP is basically a method of buying now and paying over a period of time....the goods aren't yours until you've made the last payment.

Actually they can. But not without being responsible for the losses incurred by the innocent party reasonably due to the breach.
As in the shop can charge a fee like toys r us do.

You could name the shop that had them for £40! I quite fancy one of those kits!!

Could you not just tell them she got one for her birthday so could you put the monry towards something else.
    Try boots...triple points this weekend
  • The name of the shop is irrelevant as it's a small local privately owned shop. What difference would it make to my query?! As for your capitalised MUST .... Were you in the shop with me?! No!
I KNOW that no terms were given to me, the only stipulation was 20% was a deposit. I have asked friends and there is definitely no signs/posters/beacons indicating terms of the club. I've also checked my receipt and again nothing.
Your attitude is quite alarming actually. I posted a query not expecting to be spoke to in such a manner

It doesn't surprise me that this sort of 'pay bit by bit' scheme results in higher prices. It's like Brighthouse and the like isn't it? Those that can only afford to pay in instalments end up getting fleeced.

TBH, OP, it would have been wiser to put the money aside each week but keep it yourself. Then you'd have had your pick of where to get the cheapest deals rather than be tied to the products and prices offered by the chemist. Not much help I know but I'd steer clear of schemes like this - they're rarely good value.

    Hi
I'd like help with a query please :)
A local chemist/shop was offering a service whereby you could lay items away and pay up for them on the run up to Christmas

    Was this Cash Converters?
    Hope over Fear. #VoteYes
  • Worse case scenario in the sense that they a) won't give you back what you've paid (£50) and b) won't let you use it on something else you'd still be better off buying the kit where you saw it for £40 (£50 already paid plus £40 for kit = £90 v £100 for the kit at the chemist)

In fairness these items were about £80 in boots last year, so £100 in a local independent isn't massively inflated.this is a boots( I believe) loss leader offer-who could beat that plus triple boots points-it's featured on hukd yesterday.
