Thanks! I'll have a look at the Moto G. The only thing that I'd need to get around is my son has an iPod touch which can't use what's app. He loves sending us all iMessages but the only app I found that both he and my mum could use was Tango - which is awful! Does anyone know of anything better?

I will def look into the AV Forum too

    Thanks!

    Would this be any good?

  • I see from the Moto G thread that you've bought a Moto G, Lisaberry. I should be on commission lol. I genuinely think you've made the correct decision, I really do.

The Moto G is the best phone for its price. It out-performs phones costing twice as much.

The iPhone 5c is basically an old iPhone 5 in a new frock. Personally, I wouldn't pay £200 for one let alone what Apple charges.
I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

If she has a working phone and contract... have you considered an ipad mini?

As it only cost me £80, if she isn't happy we can sell it and put the money towards an iphone without me being too much out of pocket.
The club card boost was too much of a lure!

:D I genuinely believe your mum will be amazed at what this phone (plus the new Android OS) can do compared to her Galaxy Ace. Plus an added advantage is she is at least used to the Android system, albeit, I'm sure, a very early (far less sophisticated and smooth) version. The OS that the Moto G ships with is buttery smooth like IOS and the guaranteed upgrade to KitKat 4.4 (by end of December) should make it even smoother (the new OS has been specifically designed to run very smoothly on budget Android phones with way poorer specs than the Moto G).

I have been having a play and it does seem good. The camera seems odd but I might just read some user instructions and I'm sure it will become clear.
She will be happy with the screen, it's nice and bright and looks good up against my iphone. Her big gripe with her phone now is that pictures I send her look awful...my kids cheesy grins will be nice and clear now!
I'm glad the unlock was quick and easy. Nice too that neither the phone nor the box are Tesco branded.
I have however already got a fingerprint on the back cover that won't come off, like a grease mark. Hmm, may buy a couple of new ones of fleabay for her

    Thanks for the suggestion!
