Where do I stand with this?

The charity that is doing this for me could make my life hell, so I've been told. They can get stroppy if I don't play along with them. I told them that I cannot under any circumstances work nights. They didn't listen, so I'll just mess-up the interview in the hope I don't get the job. I know a job is a job but a job shouldn't be a death sentence.
Ever considered amateur dramatics as a hobby?0 -

This is difficult. I do think it makes a big difference whether or not you have had a diagnosis of clinical depression (or just feel low)
When I was younger I did nights (I had to) and they did make me feel awful. I really felt very low, began to feel unsafe and got very anxious. I was astonished as I was (and remain) healthy and capable of dealing with most things. I was better able to cope with sleepless nights as a mum with a baby & toddler than I was with regular night shifts.
So I am sympathetic - but could you give it a try? That will stand you in good stead with JC & agency / charity and may, depending on the employer, make you eligible for day work. Also applying for other jobs will be easier.0 -

Don’t forget often these things are self-fulfilling, if you keep telling yourself working nights will make you ill than it more thank likely will as that’s what you are expecting. If you go into it with an open mind and be prepared to try it out then you might be fine. Unfortunately most jobs these days are working against targets and fast paced.
The problem is real. Night shifts affect me. At winter it is worse because I get no sunlight. I cannot sleep through the day here for the noisy traffic. The last time I did night shifts I started to gain weight on my hips and pectorals. Now I train every morning to try to slim down. I've managed to undo the weight gain and now fear that I will become fat again. So I have a lot of issues with night shifts. I just cannot see the job working out. I wish I was enthusiastic as you are, but I'm not. If this job was days I would take the job.0 -
Yer mess up the interview tell them your health isnt good as well which is true. If you take medication for depression tell them too because you arent supposed to operate machinery on them.:D
did you say you got sanctioned before for not attending an interview what was the sanction how long.
I'm not on antedepressents. At the moment I'm fighting off winter blues by exercise and getting lots of sunlight.
I got sanctioned before for putting "found nothing suitable" on my job seeker record.0 -
It is quite obvious that you do not really want a job, by the number of restrictions you seem to be putting on. "I can't do this, I don't want to do that etc". Pathetic wimp sums it up quite succinctly.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
