I do usually buy them, unless they are just awful photos. I really wish they would sell each size individually though and not in 'packs' as quite often I have to buy the bigger (and most expensive) pack in order to get the three photos I want.

I voted no. I have four children and and I have never been offered a decent picture of them. I usually take my own pictures on their first day of the Sept term and then print copies off for grandparents etc.
My favourite pictures of my children are those taken on the hoof and generally capture the moment.

Also I don't have a rule that I don't buy - I've just never been offered anything worth paying for. This year I was disappointed as it is the last year when all my children are in the same uniform. Except on photo day three of them were off sick . . .

Ds1 had a lovely smiley photo. Ds2 got five proofs as they couldn't get him to smile. Their sibling photo makes me chuckle as ds1 looks happy next to ds2 who looks like a police mugshot of a murderer :rotfl:

Yes I tend to get a pack, Then I have big ones for me, one each for the 2 granny's and one each for the great granny's aswell as one for my sister who lives quite far away. My children are awful at getting pictures taken, do odd faces or over smile (I never knew this was a thing till I had my youngest) yet our school photo's always look great. They are worth every penny and I know I will be buying them so it's an expected expense.

It won't be long till there all grown up and all I'll have to look back on is pictures.

I will say this - my mam never bought the pictures of me or my brother, because she said they didn't really look like us (clean, tidy, on our best behaviour because it was 'school photo day') except she has one print of me, which was taken on a day when she and I had BOTH forgotten it was school photo day, and my hair is a mess, (fly away as usual... it's not changed any :-( ) and my dress is wrinkled, but she says she loves it because it actually looks like ME lol
Officially saved enough to cover the cost of our wedding! :A
