lucyhope - I hope your SIL does join this thread and save and learn how to post here. She'll pick it up quickly and hopefully enjoy it.
See if you can persuade her - no arms up the back or head-locks though. :D

    Good luck.

Very well done, I did that last week and felt like I had climbed Everest!

Go via recreation grounds/fields and car parks, Sams. Always more profitable as so many kiddies and teenagers just wing it most of the time!

A good excuse for a walk as any! That'll be me and my torch tonight then :)

You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 1 of page 1. Please read through post 1 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. PS. Brilliant work, moomin!!! That's a terrific way to save...and get/keep fit of for you. :j

You hubby's right, nellie. Those places are ideal for finding cash - anywhere that's a 'people place' Keep it up, our nellie! :T

Why thank you kindly, 32b3, I do believe it's the first time anyone's ever said that to me, much obliged for sure. :A Your 55p too! ;)

            You're doing really well, Cash4AnnyQ!! :j

£3.50 potted today! Loving this challenge!

Well done, Angela, and a delight to read about your love of SPC. :D

You're one up on me, Rosy, I've NEVER had any washing machine kill - but then I'm too darned [STRIKE]tight[/STRIKE] thorough before it goes in - think scrooge, that's me! ;)

Try and let it go and move on, sort_me_own_yard_out, but do be careful where parking as they're out to make a ruddy fortune out of folk! Keep some change in a 'holding pot' (read about it in the 1st post on 1st page) so you're always covered for such events and ALWAYS keep a little change in the car for such times. :)

Well done, mumof3plusoh, I always have an eagle-eye on you - as you requested!

A nice one, glassy! The times I've been able to use unfranked stamps is amazing - so good to get one over on the post at the price it is! ;)

            AdmiralAsda - brilliant work with 20 x 20p pieces!! :j

Sue - hols? I'm away for a week to Portugal at the end of Feb - thanks to last years savings. A short break at the end of March also and main hols in June. The savings have advantages.

BTW, a bit about debt today on Sky News and the advantages of saving ahead for Xmas's, rather than putting it on cards/overdrafts etc. Basically saving rather than borrowing, a bit like the old fashioned style savings clubs. We're not "Old Fashioned" are we?? :D
Obviously we are all different, but if saving is a possibility, it makes sense. So again, any lurkers out there thinking of joining us, please do so and introduce yourself. There is still loads of time to save for Xmas 2014 and get it for "free" or to save for something else.
Having said that, nothing potted at all yesterday, but I'll get a few £'s today.

Oh, great to be able to look ahead to the hols, Lynsey, especially as it's all out of your savings. :j If saving's old fashioned then I'm proud to be so. :D Having said that, I suppose folk generally used to save more especially post war from what my Mum etc used to say. Then came the credit cards, but we're fighting our way out of card strife - right folks?! We SAVE we do!

I told my sister-in-law about my sealed pot and now she's got one! I doubt very much she'll join this challenge as she's not very computer savvy, but she's thrilled about such a simple way of saving.

Good for you, lucyhope! It doesn't matter that she probably won't join us, just so long as she too benefits from saving is all that counts. Sadly, my family don't listen, though to be honest, our lad & his DW don't need to as they're both managers, but I dearly wish my DD would. :(

Never mind using a torch, Sams, go in daylight and save on batteries - not that I'm tight or anything.

Have a lovely evening, folks, keep safe and warm. :D

PLEASE NOTE everyone: It's time to change your numbers! You'll see there are LOADS less names and numbers now, but it's useless having folk on the list that no longer save with us. However, if old members return then you'll be made very welcome and can still have your name added and be given a new number. forums.moneysavingexpert.com Please change numbers ASAP folks.

If you've already updated your No, please could you kindly make sure it's correct as I made a blunder to start with!

            Very many thanks indeed.
            Sue x

Anyone wishing to join, please just ask, you're more than welcome, it's NEVER too late. There may be a lot of us, but don't be shy, we're a lovely lot, so come on in.

Welcome Souppy! Ensure you've got your sealed pot, read the very first (very helpful!) post at the beginning of this thread and get saving! It's quite exciting when you pot some money! Everyone is so lovely on here and very encouraging. :)Sue-UU will be along soon to give you a new member number, which we all pop in our signatures.

Speaking of potting money, I got home early from work :j so took myself for a walk around town... avoiding Costa again so that's another £2 for the pot! :A
