Applying an Unordered list (bullet points) to a post

As well as the change to the editor option from standard to enhanced, which made it very difficult for me to update my Mini Cash ISAs: The Best ISAs currently available List sticky. As I couldn't see the tags to edit them! I've now switched the editor back to standard which has resolved it.
However, I've also noticed that the when I include a List (bullet points) in a post the coding has changed. It now makes including a list in a post more complicated E.g. before I used to input the following code (without the spaces):
[ LIST ]
[*]write text
[*]write text
[ /LIST ] at the end of the list
Now after every bulleted item the list is being closed with a double '/'. e.g.
[ LIST ]
[*]write text
[ /LIST ][ /LIST ]
[ LIST ]
[*]write text
[ /LIST ][ /LIST ]
Also it is now more difficult to insert a 'return' between each item in the list. I had to edit my ISAs sticky a number of times to get the returns to stay. It was bunching all of the text together which made the post pretty much illegible. Can this be resolved?

Hey Kazza,
I have been looking into this but have not been able to duplicate your issue. Have tried both the standard and enhanced editor and lists work as they are meant to :
[ LIST ]
[*]write text
[*]write text
[ /LIST ]
Is this issue only on an existing post you have? Does it function correctly when making new posts?
If it is just in the one post, it could simply be that your post has become "corrupt" during the ammending of certain WYSIWYG errors we had after the new site launch. Have you tried clearing your cache and deleting temp internet files and then trying again?
If that doesn't work can you try the following:
1. Empty your post (cut and paste all its contents into textpad so you don't lose it) save the post with some random text.
2. Now in the content you pasted into notepad, ammend all the bbcode to what you think is correct (such as the above list bbcode)
3. Go into advance edit of your saved empty post, paste the fixed content from your notepad file and save.
Hopefully this will sort that issue out.
Sorry for any inconveniences,
EDIT: I managed to replicate your post using the correct LIST bbcode. See following post. If you want me to send you the code i used pm me with your email0 -

Many thanks for looking into this MSE Antelo. The issue was occurring both when adding lists to new posts, as well as when editing my ISAs sticky. However, the issue no longer seems to be affecting lists in new posts.
The ISAs thread on the other hand it still displaying the problem. I think you're right about possible corruption to my ISAs post. At the moment when I try to edit the post I've noticed that the code behind it has changed from what it should be. After every bullet pointed item there are two "[/LIST][/LIST]" rather than just one "[/LIST]" at the end of the list and it is difficult to insert "returns" between each bulleted item. E.g.
NS&I Direct ISA - 6.05% NEW RATE
Rate guarantee? Yes. Guarantees to pay BOE base rate + 0.55% until 5th April 2008. Minimum deposit: £1,000. Minimum further deposit £250 (£100 by standing order).
Operated via: Internet and Telephone
Egg cash ISA - 6.05%
Rate guarantee? Yes, but not at the current rate. Will be at least equal to BOE base rate until 05.04.09.
Minimum deposit: £1. Operated via: Internet
The above is how it was set out before the changes to board to resolve the WYSIWYG errors, but now the items in the post are bunched together. I will see if I can get it to revert back to how it was, as it is a post that I need to edit very often.
EDIT: I think I've resolved the issue now. I've edited out all of the multiple instances of "[/LIST][/LIST]" leaving just "[ LIST ]" at the top and closing it at the bottom "[ /LIST ]". This has allowed me to add the returns so that the text is once again broken into paragraphs which makes the post easier to read. Hopefully, it will be OK from here on. I've made a backup of my post to my hard disk in case a problem arises again. Thanks again. Please call me 'Kazza'.0
