Hi NSK, I'm not joining in the challenge but I have recently been following the thread with interest, however I just wanted to say thank you..
I was reading the challenges the other day and really liked the idea of the food bank one (and read the link you posted back to Jack's blog on the subject). Anyway, yesterday I finally become debt free and as a result of this thread and the link you posted, I decided to buy £10's worth of bits this weekend.
I then came into work to find we were all being refunded the £30 we'd put into the team Christmas drinks kitty as the company will pay for the amount the permies put in. So, today I unexpectedly got my £30 back - so will take the children to Tescos this weekend and we'll buy £30 of bits instead of £10.. Pllussss.... I was looking on the Trussell Trust site and Tesco will add an extra 30% to the donations this weekend so that's roughly an extra £12 on top of the £30
Just wanted to mention how this thread prompted me to take alook at the food banks and help out this month :beer:April 2021 Grocery Challenge 34.29 / 2500 -
Shortie thank you for such an amazing post! Congratulations on your debt freedom and what a brilliant addition from Tesco's. Thank you for such a great donation to the cause - your kiddies will have fun filling a trolley and that £30 is a LOT of food. Thank you for posting!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0

Well just been working a few figures out and Im in the muddy mire of debtedness!!!! I will have to spend as little as possible up to Xmas and then only the necessary. I have all bills on DD, so they should be OK, but I have started the month so heavily in my OD that theres only enough to cover them and a bit left before I go over my upper limit
So its eating as much as possible out of the cupboards and I will also smash the Terrumundi as that was Xmas spending money, mind you theres probably only about £13 in it as its full of pennies etc
So here I go again, next year I will be clear of my CCs and OD and no messing about this time.
