I am currently with o2 directly and pay around £45 p.month for my iphone 4S. On 'My O2' it says my contract expires on 5th January 2014 but I can upgrade on 5th December 2013.
I want an iphone 5s but the best they can offer me with a free handset is £42 p.month.
I can get the same tariff and handset for £37 p.month with £60 cashback with mobiles.co.uk. Has anyone used this company before? It says they're connected with Carphone Warehouse but I have never come across them before.
It says on their website that if I want to stay with the same network and keep my number, I would have to purchase it as an 'upgrade' rather than a new contract. If I add the handset to my basket as an upgrade, it basically lets me go right through the process without giving any details of my existing contract other than my mobile phone number. How does it know that I am even eligible for an upgrade? Will I end up paying for 2 contracts?
I have been with o2 for years so am not familiar with the switching process!
