No no guys,
they had no contractual relationship !!! Sent only bills and do not understand how, but they tried to take the money from my account and I found out later that they took my bank details from an external broker who had been contacted for a contract for electricity (which I i never signed). When I called to get this recording, as evidence of contract they told me it did not exist !!! They did not have it! Because I had never talked to these people! Only with the threat of the console, to stop intimidate me with reminders if I was not their customer, the story ended with a letter where they have admitted that they had no contract and that everything was wrong!0 -
Yes it's finish!0

Please note anyone that comes across this site concerning opus abbots debt recovery. Opus own a string on companies all the same directors for each company including abbots, yes so when you liaise with abbots it's actually opus sister company, what is interesting is that they have a string of energy companies registered so if you get hounded day in day out your actually dealing with the same company technically probably the same staff speaking just a different company name used when they contact you. I did my homework on company check and it's very interesting how many sister brother companies they have with all exactly the same directors also I caught one of there staff out as he classed abbots staff as his colleague. Bare this in mind people don't be passed from pillar to post there probably in the same office0

Do not ever sign up to these !!!!!s. You will be led a merry dance if you try to switch.
I took over a business with them as the current suppliers for gas and elec.
They immediately told me i was on an implied contract and was paying double the normal rate...but would be reduced if i signed a long term contract...which after that I was never going to do. they then gave me the run around and refused to give me the info to aloow the switch-all the while racking up rapacious rates.
Surely this is illegal....should i report them to someone--if so who?
I got out finally...i will take my time paying their final bill..seeing as even though they were provided final readings ,they continue to send bills which are double and based on estimated readings!!
DONT USE THEM EVER0 -
They are experts of lies , conning people , misleading , trapping with fake calls and recordings , pretending to be a different company hooking you up with different rates and finally fixing you on a very higher rate with opus giving you no cooling off period , every one is so rude and ruthless , every single person in compliance says they will look into it but they respond with a pure confidence and pure lies.
they simply say do whatever you can , we have your recordings and you have agreed to a contract , they use different brokers and their broker use different other sales people who are not even a part of brokers , they are just indecent people who have got no work to do and then they will start calling you for 100-150 times a day , from different nos, withheld ids, calls on viber and whats app these days aswell.
they will also tell don't worry about what they read in the contract just say yes yes , and don't worry about the rates , because they will send you the final contract in the documented form in the post and if you agree to it and sign it then they can finally proceed but soon you agree to them on the phone , they will never answer you back and opus will take over all your contracts/bills , a bad energy company with no working ethics , and if you call opus and inform this is happening and they do not want to hear it from your mouth , they say we only do verbal contracts , and we have your recording where you have said yes .
and they also tell you to do whatever you can.
please do not answer to any calls from these scammers, they have no value for a human , they are criminals and crooks.
regards

I've read all these threads and didn't realise how thick some people who "run" their own business' are. Most of you mention that you had been forced into a contract with a broker to be supplied by Opus Energy and the broker isn't the bad guy it's the supplier. The brokers are not affiliated with any energy supplier what so ever so, you being thick enough to agree a contract with a known broker is your own fault. Do not bad mouth another company for something you were silly enough to do.
A 5 month old thread and you decide to post on it.
A bit odd you think.0 -
Moved into a premises that was being supplied by Opus Energy and immediately changed suppliers but had to enter a deemed contract with Opus who were supplying the previous tenants with gas. Took them a month to allow the change over and in that time charged us £1.50 per day standing charge! This was 8 times more expensive than the subsequent supplier we went with... They would not consider reducing this bill then hounded us for the money! Shocking company, would NOT recommend using them for anything.0
