Opus energy - be warned

Has anyone else had experience of being hounded by energy companies lying in order to set up verbal contracts for business energy supply?
We have had the misfortune to have been duped into verbally agreeing a contract with Opus energy who will not let us out of the contract and also because we tried to stop a direct debit going through (as they are trying to charge us for 3 meters - not just the one we should be paying for) they have sent us a letter saying they will charge an 'undisclosed administration fee and increase our supply costs by 7.5%'
I'd be interested to know if anyone else has had similar experiences and if so what did they do about it.
Thank you

Hi, I know a business that was put into a contract with Opus energy through an energy broker called EnergiSave Online.
It's owned by Janet Thornton and she also owns Inspired Energy based in Kirkham.
It seems their only sales tactic is to hound and abuse customers until they sign with Opus Energy so I don't think any of it is Opus' fault - just the broker.

Why sign up as a different user then....From your previous posts it shows you are 'Equidivine' so no need to complicate matters and have an alias.
It sounds like a nighmare situation and I really hope it all gets sorted sooner rather than later, good luck.0 -
Hello everyone, I am now having the same problem with this company.
It all started with a stupid phone call with a certain company called Energysafe or EnergySave ... I've just spoken with their electricity and ever, to contract gas. After various my insistence to receive a copy of the contract to read and subscribe (which never arrived), after a week I contacted BES and I signed a contract with them. I also asked how BES do if these people then sent me a contract. They reassured me by telling me that there would be no problems and that they were provided to delete the old contract (in case there was!). Everything's fine until I start to get a bill from the company never heard before "Opus Energy "for gas. Which gas ??? I never spoke with Opus Energy and never signed any contract !!! Twice trying to take money from my personal account and they can not because fortunately I had no money !! Block from the bank this company, which continues to haunt me with threatening letters and payments absurd, I ask for a copy of the proof of my contract that does not give me and tell me that it was done by telephone with Energysafe incredible .... I have never spoken gas !!!! I called asking Energysafe recordings of the call and you know what was the response? I DO NOT KNOW AND I HAVE NO MORE 'THE RECORDINGS !!!
someone can help me????0 -
Ladies and Gentlemen, attention,
Opus Energy is official fraud the people. I just went to my consulate has even discovered that the mysterious letter left in my property with the name of a law office, named Abbott Debt Recovery is false !!! Called the number of this law office they have passed the call to customer service. But how, you call a law office to ask for an explanation and they will pass the customers service company ??? Ha ha ha !!! YOU are the only ROBBERS !!! When the consul told him that my client will now go, both by the lawyer to the police to report that you have said that we will send a letter immediately where declare that we have no contractual relationship with them and that we have nothing to pay! !!! Shame! disgusting!0 -
Adrian - is your alleged contract for gas related to a business you own/run, or for gas supply to a residential property?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Hiya Adriana
Can I ask if you did any checks into BES before you contacted them and signed a contract with them. You might want to do so.0
