Water around kitchen Sink

I alway get water spreading around the kitchen sink while washing. which may leads to risk of water leaking under the worktop.
Any suggestion how can I stop this happening as a long term solution rather than a temporary fix.

can you describe how the water gets around the kitchen sink? is it leaking from the taps or getting splashed up from the sink itself?0

This happens to me, I am a splasher! Lol!
I cut a tea towel in half lengthways and place one piece down the side of the sink and one at the back when I'm washing up.
It absorbs all the water and its a matter of wringing it out when I'm done (and reusing to wipe any excess water, if I've been extra splashy!) and leaving to dry, ready for the next round of washing.Mummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -
As a long time, permanent way, I would have thought you'd have two options, be extra careful when washing or invest in a deeper sink, such as a Belfast.
For me, I'm happy with my tea towelMummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -

One suggestion I received was to tile the area around the sink. Not sure if anyone know of this to stop damaging the area around especially water leaking in the worktop0

Is the sink not insulated?
By silicon? I have nearly invisible layer of silicon around/under my sink edges that also acts as holding it down to the surface (ie you cannot just take the sink out, it is secured in it's hole IYKWIM).
I also splash a lot, but I just wipe after that. I wipe the whole of surface around after every washing anyway, it is just part of that.0 -

Just did some washing, the main area of concern is that corner on the top. Image here0 -
I make a lot of mess when washing up. I just dry round the sink after with a tea towel then chuck to the wash. Never even thought about it till I read this thread tbhHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0
