Be careful with these... a lot of them are substituted with a really crappy model with no slot.

It's the other one which was sub'ed with another model, but was removed from sale and sub's removed a couple months ago.

Well. Maybe not such a good buy after all, or maybe I've been unlucky....
Gave it to my friend as a present. He plugged it in for a while, then turned it off. When he turned it on again, the screen went funny and it switched itself off. Been dead since, so I'm bringing it back tomorrow to try and get it replaced. :(

I charged mine on Friday and having just read that post, I switched mine back on just now and it's working fine. Maybe the poster got a faulty model?

Beware though, they're exempt from the 30 day money back guarantee, but they might swap it for a working unit.

Well, I went and got a refund no problem. Also, thinking that they might go out of stock, I actually reserved one yesterday (and they were out of stock today). So I picked that up today and we will test it tonight! I hope this one works. :o

What's the sound quality on these like? are the included headphones usable or are you replacing them? Have always bought Creative players but left my last one by my PC and one of the kids crunched it.... still works but looks a bit tat with a cracked screen.

Just picked up one of these today, pretty decent as a spare mp3 player in case anything should ever happen to my Sony NW-HD5

Also picked one up and having seen it have reserved another! The headphones will annoy me as they are integrated into a neck strap that also holds the player ( other half thinks they're great! ) Have left it charging and will feedback on sound quality later.

tested: sound quality is very acceptable!

Well worth taking out the 3 year replacement cover at £1.49 for these.
