Hi all!
It's my first thread, so bear with me!
I have just ordered one of those from Argos:
Bush PMP512N 512MB MP3 Player
Can be found here:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5133996/Trail/C%24cip%3D49550.Sound%2Band%2Bvision%3EC%24cip%3D49628.MP3%2Bplayers%3EC%24cip%3D49630.MP3%2Bplayers%2Bwith%2Bportable%2Bsolid%2Bstate.htm
It's a very good deal I think, as it also takes Sd cards to get a bigger memory. Rechargeable battery as well. I've just seen one of them as my colleague got one, and they look fab too! Same size as my Ipod nano.

yea just got back from town with one there great for a tenner especially when you can pick up a 2gb sd card for another tenner so 20 quid for a 2gb mp3 player seems ok to me i wanted 2 but they only had 1 left so must be very limited stock0

I reserved two online yesterday for instore collection this morning from the North Bridge, Edinburgh store. They're really nice little things about 4.5 inches x 1.5 inches x 0.5 inches thick. They don't take normal batteries, but they recharge the internal battery via a supplied USB cable from your PC. I have one charging up just now, so I haven't listened to it yet.
One thing that I noticed was missing is that the guide book doesn't say how big an SD memory card it can take, 512, 1gb or 2gb, so I'll check that out later.
All in all, it seems pretty good for £9.99.

Thanks just got two of these this morning for Xmas pressies0

Any news yet on what size SD card this will work with?0

It recognises a 1gb SD card at least. I don't have a 2gb card to test it with and I don't want to go out and buy a 2gb card only to get back and find out that it doesn't recognise it. When you use the SD card, it cancels out the 512mb internal memory, so you only have access to the 1gb SD card which is still pretty good, I think.

Thanks for the update. When you remove the 1GB SD card does the original internal memory still hold the mp3's that you have loaded, So in effect you have 1.5 GB0
-
Yes it does, but it utilises the memory seperately. With the 1gb card, you can only have 1gb storage or without the card, 512mb storage. I don't think they can be combined together to give 1.5gb of storage. I might be wrong though, I'm still playing about with it.
Worth £9.99 though.

dont think there is any other way to charge it apart from pc0

Get a USB to Car Cig Lighter adapter and charge it off the car when on the move (and plug it into the car stereo if you have a line in)0
