    With an in-the-pocket income of more than £8,000 or £670 per month why can't she afford a mobile phone? Maybe she should not be spending £35 or £40 on it but if she can't manage on a budget of £630 then she will not be able to manage a budget of £660.

    Her mobile phone is not the issue.
  • I recently bought myself out of my contract by selling my smartphone on Ebay. I then got a cheap Sim only deal from Virgin and a second hand phone from Ebay at a knockdown price. It'll save me loads and I wish i'd done it in the first place. But we live and learn...

    Which is why it would be a good idea to have a benefits check and support as budgeting is often a concern for people even when they don't have a learning disability. And as incredible as it may sound sometimes people do not claim their child tax credits and / or their healthy start vouchers.
