Any tips for getting dog to eat 'chewable' tablets?

I know this is an older thread, but it doesn't harm to contribute my experience of this in case somebody is still after differing ideas:
I have a mortar and pestle and crush the tablet into a fine power before incorporating in a corner of my furry baby's food so he doesn't even know it's in there.
Or
If the tablet is flavoured, I keep it in his "snack" box and pretend it's a tasty snack. I ask him if he wants a snack and he never hesitates to eat anything out of his "snack" box!0 -
I find varying the hiding places works. I always give some of what I am using to hide the pills on its own to reduce suspicion from the dog.,
Either crush the tablet and mix with wet food. Slice a cocktail sausage and stuff a tablet or piece of tablet in it. 3rd choice is to wrap it in a piece of ham. Most of these work best if I throw the item for the dog to catch as it is down the hatch before the dog even realises there are pills stashed in them.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
Best way I found to get tablets into a stubborn Great Dane is melt a chunk of cheddar in the microwave til it's runny, put the tablet in, kind of move the liquid cheese about til it's covered and then let it go hard again, in the fridge makes it harden faster. The cheese completely covers the tablet and also covers any smell.2 angels in heaven :A0
