Switching to Npower 2017 fix Slooooow!?

Hi all
Myself along with 5 of my friends and relatives all applied on line at the Npower web site for their December 2017 dual fuel tariff. Six separate new customers in total. We all received a somewhat rudimentary welcome email and a separate email address confirmation email within a day or so. We all immediately responded to verify our respective emails as being correct.
That was over a month ago!! Since then we have all received nothing. Nada, zilch! No terms & conditions, no final meter read request, no account number, no time line for the switch. We don't even have anything in writing to confirm that we will even get the tariff we applied for!!
I am getting a distinct feeling that I should have possibly remained with EDF who have been superb for me. It was the ultra long price fix which appealed to us all, even though we know there are cheaper tariffs around.
To be honest, I don't personally mind how long it takes as the EDF fixed tariff I'm presently on is £190 a year cheaper, and runs till April 2014. So the longer Npower take, then I'm better off, each week that goes by I'm saving money.
However, it is disconcerting to have not even received a welcome pack, confirming that we will eventually get the said long fix tariff.
Just wondered if others are having the same issue? Do they want our business or not?
Regards
Peter

It typically takes 6 to 8 weeks to switch. I applied to the previous March 2017, and have only received a bundle of letters confirming the switch as it happens in the last week. Stick in there.0

Looks like the N Power fire sale is in full swing, call centres being relocated to India, closing them down in the UK, and flogging off unwanted customers to Utility warehouse.
Sounds as if they are going all out to retain their reputation for having the worst customer service of all the energy companies. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Not that I particularly want to defend Npower, but despite the outsourcing to India of back office work, they say they ARE maintaining the UK based customer service call centres.0 -

They told me it would take 11 weeks to switch my electricity. After 6 weeks, I'd heard nothing either.Saving for deposit: Finished! :j
House buying: Finished!
Next task: Lots and lots of DIY0 -
I called their business customer services last week to discuss about my contract end date (as I have forgotten the end date). I was in the queue for long time and then I disconnect the line. Its disgusting.0

Ha, as if by magic, I received an email the day after posting this. It was confirming my new account number and asking for meter reading between 2-9th December for electricity.
No mention of T&C, no tariff or monthly payment confirmation and no welcome pack received yet. Also, no mention of my Gas supply account or meter read yet either!

I started a switch from BG to nPower for gas only on Oct 17. Got the welcome email with contract details and tariff confirmation on Oct 23. Since then, nothing and BG have closed my gas account already.0
