Thinking oif changing broadband

Im thinking of changing broadband.. i can only get ADSL have 7 meg as max i can get on BT (who im currently with).. I been looking and most other can offer is 3-4meg.. anyone know why... ?? all i can think is BT trottle other companies bandwidth..

They all use the BT data to predict speeds and that isn't always accurate. It sounds like you are actually getting over estimate.
At the sort of speed you are getting it won't make a huge difference whether you have ADSL or ADSL2+ although the latter should be a tad faster. You may already be on it of course.
The information from the SamKnows exchange search will show your LLU options which tend to be cheaper although there may not be any. Virtually any ISP you chose will be able to provide a service using the BTw network though and the actual maximum speed will be the same for all although how well that holds up at peak times may well vary.0
